Patent number: 8805365Abstract: A method performed by a mobile device to register for cellular data connection service provided by a mobile telecommunications service provider. The mobile device determines that it does not have a valid cellular data connection subscription with the mobile telecommunications service provider. Responsive to that determination, the mobile device connects to a cellular data connection service registration site to allow a user of the mobile device to register for data connection service provided by the mobile telecommunications service provider. The mobile device is limited to accessing the data connection service registration site until the user registers for data connection service.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2010Date of Patent: August 12, 2014Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Laura Heckman, Arun Mathias, Isabel Mahe, Matthew Klahn, Brian Cassidy, Jean-Marc Padova

Publication number: 20110061681Abstract: A cleaning and obstruction locating pipeline pig according to this invention includes a magnetic nose bumper at its forward end and a disc located in the central bypass flow passageway that prevents product from flowing through the central bypass flow passageway while the pig is travelling forward in the pipeline. If debris ahead of the pig causes the pig to become stuck in the pipeline, product flow pressing upon the disc ruptures the disc, thereby allowing product to flow through the central bypass flow passageway until the pig is located and removed from the pipeline. The pig may also be used to locate a previously launched but stuck pipeline pig.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 16, 2009Publication date: March 17, 2011Inventor: Andrew Brian Cassidy

Publication number: 20090064038Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products, for configuring a device. A device is coupled to a data source. One or more parameters associated with the data source are determined. The one or more parameters are applied to the device. Properties of the data source are inherited by the device without requiring a user to specifically input or identify the parameters for the device.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 4, 2007Publication date: March 5, 2009Applicant: APPLE INC.Inventors: David Fleischman, Patrick Coffman, Gregory N. Patent number: 6480725Abstract: A telephone is disclosed which comprises a memory (6) for storing first information, such as ID information, and a memory module receiver (10) for removably receiving a memory module for storing second information, such as ID information. The telephone also comprises a microprocessor (4) for detecting a change in contact between the memory module and the memory module receiver (10) since the previous use of the telephone. The microprocessor (4) uses the first information when the memory module and receiving means are not in contact and the second information when memory module and receiving means are in contact whilst there is no change detected. However, when a change is detected, the information to be used by the microprocessor (4) is selected, either automatically or manually.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1998Date of Patent: November 12, 2002Assignee: Nokia Mobile Phones, Ltd.Inventors: Brian Cassidy, Ian Ray, Jonathan Marsters, Peter Scudamore, Anthony Butler, Paul Edwards
