  • Patent number: 10371069
Abstract: In previous control systems for engines that fuelled with a conventional fuel and an alternative fuel, a conventional fuel controller controlled fuelling for both fuels. This required extensive modifications to both the conventional fuel controller and an alternative fuel controller. A control system for an engine comprises a first control unit programmed to generate a first pulse width to actuate a first fuel injector to introduce a first fuel; a second control unit programmed to generate a second pulse width to actuate a second fuel injector to introduce a second fuel; and a communication line between the first and second control units. The first control unit determines a total fuel energy amount to be introduced by the first and second fuel injectors. The second control unit determines a first fraction of the total fuel energy amount to be from the first fuel and a second fraction of the total fuel energy amount to be from the second fuel.

  • Publication number: 20050258401
Abstract: A method for preventing, inhibiting or reducing the corrosion of metals embedded in cementitious material. The method can comprise manufacturing lithium nitrate. The method can further comprise providing lithium nitrate for addition to a cementitious material at an effetive dosage rate. The dosage rate can be between about 0.01 gram moles per cubic foot of cementitious material and about 100 gram moles per cubic foot of cementitious material, or greater if desired or required. The reduced corrosion rate therefore increases the life expectancy of the structures formable from cementitious material. Some exemplary structures formable from the cementitious material include the following, but not limited thereto, pillars, bridge decks, bridges, road decks, roads, houses, buildings, pilings, railroads, warehouses, piers, parking structures, wharves, and/or any other structures desired and/or required, etc.

  • Patent number: 6302919
Abstract: A filtration device, apparatus, and method of filtration useful for filtering liquid samples are disclosed wherein filtration occurs opposite the direction of centrifugal force. The filtration device is placed within a container that contains the liquid sample to be filtered. Together, the filtration device and the container comprise the filtration apparatus. Centrifugation forces the liquid sample present in the container to enter the filtration device, thereby effecting filtration. The vertical position of the filtration device is fixed within this container during filtration.

  • Patent number: 4494795
Abstract: An adjustor for chairs with tilting backs and the like, comprises a threaded spindle connected with the chair back, and a gear wheel threadedly mounted on the spindle. The gear wheel is retained in a housing attached to a relatively stationary portion of the chair, such that when the chair back is tilted, the spindle rotates the gear wheel in the housing. A pawl is shifted into and out of engagement with the gear wheel to selectively lock the chair back in a wide variety of different angular positions.

  • Patent number: 3971106
Abstract: A backing member for a pronged garment fastener comprises a sheet-metal disc of spherically curved shallow dished configuration having a convex exterior surface and a concave interior surface. Integral tongue elements extend radially inwards from the periphery and lie in closely adjacent substantially abutting confronting relation with said concave interior surface within the concavity recess. The tongue elements have apertures which register with the prongs of the fastener and, adjacent said apertures, longitudinal groove or channel formations which extend radially inwards and which co-operate with the opposed concave interior surface to form pockets adapted to receive and accommodate the individual bent-over end portions of the prongs which are passed through said apertures and clenched against the concave interior surface.
