  • Publication number: 20190253162
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a plurality of master information blocks (MIBs) on a narrowband physical broadcast channel (NPBCH). The UE may determine an NPBCH signal power based at least in part on the plurality of MIBs. The UE may estimate a narrowband reference signal received power (NRSRP) parameter based at least in part on the NPBCH signal power. In some aspects, a base station may determine whether to enable or disable NPBCH-based estimates of an NRSRP parameter for a UE. The base station may transmit, to the UE, an indication of whether NPBCH-based estimates of the NRSRP parameter are enabled or disabled for the UE based at least in part on the determination. • Publication number: 20190199481
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, devices may implement carrier aggregation and shortened transmission time intervals (sTTIs) for downlink transmissions. To improve downlink throughput with a reduced feedback latency, the system may implement a modified hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) timeline. For example, a base station may configure a first component carrier with a TTI or sTTI for downlink that is longer than an sTTI for a second uplink component carrier. The base station and a user equipment (UE) may operate using a HARQ timing for the first component carrier that is based on the shorter sTTI for the second component carrier. The base station may transmit a downlink transmission using the longer TTI or sTTI for greater carrier aggregation, and the UE may send a downlink HARQ acknowledgment (ACK) message in response according to the HARQ timing for reduced latency.

  • Publication number: 20190098594
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may support dynamic clock switching within a transmission time interval (TTI) to allow for more efficient and flexible processing within the TTI. In particular, a user equipment (UE) may be configured to use multiple clock speeds for processing signals within a TTI, and the UE may determine a clock speed to use for processing data within a TTI based on control information received from a base station. For example, the UE may determine an amount of time available for processing data based on the control information received from the base station, and the UE may adjust its clock speed to finish processing the data in the determined amount of time.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes various examples of a method, an apparatus, and a computer readable medium for multi-state discontinuous reception (DRX) in wireless communications. For example, one of the methods described may include identifying, by a user equipment (UE), at least two states in connected mode, determining, by the UE, one or more triggers for transitioning between the at least two states, and transitioning, by the UE, from a first state of the at least two states to a second state of the at least two states in response to a determination of the one or more triggers. In an aspect, the transitioning comprises transitioning between cross-slot scheduling and same-slot scheduling, or between a narrow bandwidth and a wide bandwidth, or between a larger periodicity and a smaller periodicity for monitoring.

  • Publication number: 20180206258
Abstract: A UE may determine a number of resources granted for uplink or downlink communication in a processing window. The resources may include uplink resources or downlink resources and the processing windows may include a predetermined number of subframes. For uplink (UL) transmissions, this may include determining a number of transport block bits, resource blocks, or other resources scheduled in one or more first UL channel grants for a first UL channel, and determining a number of such resources scheduled in a second UL grant for a second UL channel. For downlink (DL) transmissions, the determining may include determining a number of resources received on a first DL channel in each subframe of a set of subframes, and determining a number of resources received on a second DL channel. The determined number of UL or DL resources may be compared to a corresponding threshold which his based on the UE capabilities and processed in accordance a result of the comparison. These and additional aspects are described herein.

  • Publication number: 20180091108
Abstract: A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are disclosed for energy efficient multichannel communications. In one aspect, the apparatus may communicate using a plurality of channels working in parallel where the plurality of channels may share an LNA. Additionally, the apparatus may determine a set of parameters for the plurality of channels to maximize energy efficiency. The apparatus may therefore configure the plurality of channels based on the set of parameters. As such, the apparatus supports multichannel communications with a common LNA structure while providing energy optimization for the multichannel communications. Accordingly, multichannel communications can be provided using a shared LNA structure that reduces implementation cost and more efficiently utilizes available power resources.

  • Patent number: 9867175
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for mapping, by a UE, uplink transmissions to one or more antennas of the UE. In one aspect, a UE may receive an uplink resource allocation identifying a set of resource blocks (RBs) from a base station. The UE may map subsets of the set of RBs to one or more of a plurality of antennas of the UE and transmit one or more uplink transmissions, using the subsets of the set of resource blocks, on the one or more antennas based at least in part on the mapping. Additionally, in some aspects, the UE may determine channel characteristics or CSI associated with the downlink from the base station and base the mapping of subsets of RBs to one or more antennas of the UE on the determined channel characteristics/CSI.
