    Abstract: A zip fastener has mouldings on the opposite tapes which hinder the movement of the sliders relative to the tapes. The movement of the sliders past the mouldings can be felt by the user and so helps indicate when the sliders, are in position at the bottom of one tape, ready to receive the male movable open parts pin. The moulding rides past a shoulder on the slider as the pin is pushed into position. The invention is also useful with fasteners having a single slider.
