  • Publication number: 20160062618
Abstract: A method of operation for a system incorporating a graphical user interface embedded in a knob disposed on a side ledge within a cabin of an aircraft includes displaying a menu for at least one controllable parameter, receiving a selection of the controllable parameter, displaying at least one control for the selected controllable parameter, receiving a control input for the selected controllable parameter, and adjusting the selected controllable parameter consistent with the control input. The controllable parameter comprises a plurality of controllable parameters selected from a group comprising light intensity, light color, temperature, media type, media content, media volume, and the degree of openness of at least one window shade. • Patent number: 9267806
Abstract: Path-relevant information is provided by a backend server system to a vehicle without an input or request from the vehicle operator. Program applications, including a web browser application, records vehicle route data in a local memory during vehicle travel. Such vehicle route data may include current GPS coordinates, time of day, day of week, etc. The recorded vehicle route data may then be used to locally generate one or more route prediction models. A predicted vehicle route may be generated from the route prediction models. Once a vehicle route has been predicted, coordinate data corresponding to the predicted route may be transmitted to a backend server. Thereafter, path-relevant information, based on the transmitted coordinate data, may then be received from the backend server, and without the vehicle operator having to provide any input or request.

  • Patent number: 9205914
Abstract: A distributed architecture for multi-nodal control of functions in an aircraft cabin. The distributed architecture includes a processor, a controller operatively connected to the processor, a passenger IO node operatively connected to the controller, and a crew IO node operatively connected to the controller. The passenger IO node and the crew IO node are capable of controlling at least one of light intensity in the aircraft cabin, color of light in the aircraft cabin, temperature in the vehicle cabin, and a degree of openness of one or more window shades in the aircraft cabin. A method and an executable computer program product also are provided.

  • Publication number: 20150068621
Abstract: A gas pressure regulator is disclosed that includes a reciprocating piston that engages and disengages from a seat to open the higher pressure and lower pressure sides of the regulator to one another. The regulator includes an elastomer seal between the seat and the piston that has an ignition rating sufficient to avoid combustion in the presence of oxygen at pressure differentials that are a factor of between 5 and 10 between the higher pressure and lower pressure sides of the regulator.

  • Patent number: 8307299
Abstract: A virtual office management system has an image output module that displays as a single view web page. A series of defined sections are included in the single view web page, a defined section being a divisible frame capable of displaying separate content within that divisible frame, a physical office module, a desktop module, and a resource module. The physical office module is connected to the single view web page and displayed within the divisible frame, the physical office module providing a layered physical office environment with tags assigned to file directories. The desktop module is connected to the single view web page and displayable through the divisible frame, the desktop module being linkable to content of a pre-determined file directory that is then displayed as a system file folder, and changeable through assigned tags associated with the layered physical office environment.

  • Publication number: 20090079147
Abstract: An angled large wheel and out-of-line roller skate having an engineered plastic frame forming fore and aft downwardly-angled openings extending in a lateral direction in lateral frame members. Each of the openings has secured therein an end of a respective fore or aft axle, each of which in turn rotatably supports a canted fore or aft wheel. Each of the wheels has an engineered-plastic wheel hub and a tire thereon. The axles each have stepped configurations corresponding to the stepped configurations of their respective frame openings. Axle nuts at the ends of the axles are secured relative to the frame by respective retainer clips. The fastener securing the fore retainer clip to the frame can also secure a frame cap to the top toe end of the frame. Wheelwashers having outward stepped configurations are sandwiched between the frame and the bearing races of the wheels. A pair of tapered posts extend laterally out from the boot cradle, which is attached to the frame, and towards the rear wheel.

  • Publication number: 20070096542
Abstract: A wheel and tire combination is particularly adapted for use with a skate having large diameter, canted wheels. In one embodiment, the wheel rim has a generally “L”-shaped cross-section and a tire disposed within the notch of the “L”. The tire has a rounded contour and, when the wheel is canted, pressure of the ground against the tire forces the tire into the notch of the “L”. The tire may be molded in place on the rim of the wheel or may be molded as a separate part that is stretched over the rim of the wheel. In another embodiment, the rim has a channel-shaped cross-section. This embodiment is particularly adapted for use with air-filled or foam tires.
