Abstract: A system and method for removing residual powder from an additively manufactured object is provided, wherein one or more additively manufactured parts covered by loose residual powder are loaded into a chamber. The residual powder is blown off the surface of the object with one or more streams of high-pressure gas. A vacuum is pulled on the chamber with a vacuum pump to reduce or remove air resistance within the chamber and cause the particles to fall out of suspension, e.g., to the bottom of the chamber or into a collection vessel, under the influence of gravity.
