  • Publication number: 20090221863
Abstract: An HF alkylation process for producing gasoline boiling range alkylate product by the alkylation of a light olefin with an isoparaffin in the presence of hydrogen fluoride as an alkylation catalyst, in which the content of organic fluorides in the alkylation product stream is reduced by recontact with additional HF alkylation acid after which the hydrocarbon phase and the denser acid-containing phase are separated in a hydrocyclone. The use of the hydrocyclone enables the acid inventory of the unit to be significantly reduced which still achieving satisfactory removal of the unwanted fluoride by-products.

  • Patent number: 7573726
Abstract: A printed circuit board module for a rack mounted chassis. The module includes a latching assembly having: a handle and a catch. When the module is inserted a predetermined distance into a chassis, the catch becomes inserted into an aperture formed on the chassis and when, at such predetermined distance, the handle is slid inwardly into the chassis, the catch engages the handle to retain the handle within the module. On the other hand if, when the module is inserted into the chassis at a distance less than the predetermined distance, the catch is unable to be inserted into an aperture and when the handle is slid inwardly from the chassis, the catch prevents the handle from being retained and such handle, when released, is urged outwardly of the module thereby indicating that the module is improperly inserted within the chassis.

  • Publication number: 20090182967
Abstract: A computer implemented method, computer product code, and data processing system are provided for transferring data between virtual partitions. A request is received to transfer a packet from a first partition to a second partition. A free buffer is identified from a buffer pool of the second partition, and a receive descriptor is written. A bit within the receive descriptor is set to identify a receive descriptor ring of second partition. A first interrupt is generated to the second partition. The packet is then copied to the free buffer, and the receive descriptor is updated.

  • Publication number: 20090177673
Abstract: A device sending electronic messages first verifies the intended recipient of the message by sending a message beacon (101) comprising data uniquely identifying the electronic message and the electronic address of the intended recipient of the message to a receiving device. The receiving device verifies that the intended recipient is serviced by the receiving device and then replies to the sending device returning the message beacon (102). The sending device thereafter sends the electronic message to the intended recipient (103). The receiving device may also reply to the sending device with a verification reply including data related to the intended recipient (108). Upon consideration of the data, the sending device may alter the electronic message prior to forwarding, forward the message or determine to withhold the message.

  • Patent number: 7483268
Abstract: Described is a disk drive assembly and method for constructing same. The disk drive assembly includes a carrier-less disk drive having opposite sides, each with at least one hole. A carrier holds the disk drive. The carrier includes a frame around three sides of the disk drive. The frame has a base and opposing sidewalls. Each sidewall has an integrally formed pin that enters a corresponding hole in a side of the disk drive to position the disk drive within the frame. Coupled to the frame where each sidewall terminates is a clip. The clip provides a fourth side to the frame opposite the base and causes the sidewalls to hold the disk drive tightly therebetween. An injector-ejector mechanism can be rotatably coupled to the clip for pivotal movement between open and closed positions. Such movement urges the disk drive assembly out of and into a chassis bay.

  • Publication number: 20090020454
Abstract: The present invention is an improved regenerated catalyst bend assembly for a fluid catalytic cracking unit. In a preferred embodiment, the reduced elevation (“RE-bend” or “REL-bend”) regenerated catalyst return line assembly of the present invention has an outlet elevation that is lower than the inlet elevation of the RE-bend or REL-bend regenerated catalyst return line assembly, and a process for utilizing the assembly in a fluid catalytic cracking unit. The present invention is especially useful in the modification of existing fluid catalytic cracking units to lower the elevation of the outlet of the regenerated catalyst return line assembly, thereby providing needed space to increase the fluid catalytic cracking reactor riser length.

  • Publication number: 20080304415
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for controlling data packet traffic flow into a link partner device such as an ethernet adapter. In one embodiment, an occupancy level of an adapter receive queue is monitored to detect a receive queue overrun or underrun condition or event. The detected overrun or underrun condition or event is utilized as the criteria for adjusting a pause time value within a pause time flow control frame. The pause time flow control frame is transmitted from the link partner device to a corresponding remote link partner device to pause data packet transmission in accordance with the adjusted pause time value.

  • Patent number: 7452838
Abstract: This invention relates to efficiently regenerating catalyst particles by minimizing the formation of localized “hot spots” and “cold spots” in a regeneration zone. In one embodiment, the invention includes mixing spent catalyst from a reactor and cold catalyst from a catalyst cooler in a mixing zone and directing the mixed catalyst to the regeneration zone in a fluidized manner with a fluidizing medium. In the regeneration zone, the mixed catalyst contacts an oxygen-containing regeneration medium under conditions effective to regenerate the spent catalyst contained therein.

  • Publication number: 20080259951
Abstract: A computer implemented method, data processing system, and computer program product for dynamically replacing a network adapter with minimal or no communications downtime. When a notification to replace a first network adapter is received, the process in the illustrative embodiments detects a replacement network adapter and a network interface corresponding to the replacement network adapter. The process configures a replacement network adapter, and pauses all communications to the first network adapter by dropping all incoming data packets to the first network adapter. The network interface corresponding to the first network adapter is redirected to point to the replacement network adapter. The first network adapter and the network interface corresponding to the replacement network adapter are then removed. Communication flow to the replacement network adapter is restored.

  • Publication number: 20080240127
Abstract: A computer implemented method and apparatus are provided for transferring data in a logical partitioned data processing system. A receiving adapter receives data from a network. The receiving adapter transfers the data to a pre-mapped buffer if the data is to be sent to a target adapter. A virtual bridge receives the pre-mapped buffer from the receiving adapter and transfers the pre-mapped buffer to the target adapter. The target adapter receives the pre-mapped buffer from the virtual bridge and determines that the received buffer is pre-mapped. The target adapter accesses the pre-mapped buffer using pre-mapped mapping, and transmits the data contained therein.
