  • Patent number: 10484644
Abstract: A Digital Rights Management (DRM) system is provided that reduces time for a move transaction using DTCP-IP when a copy is moved back or checked back in to an originating Personal Video Recorder (PVR). During a DTCP MOVE transaction, instead of transferring the full asset in a check back in operation to the PVR, a unique and abbreviated representation of the original copy of the asset would be made for the transfer. This abbreviated representation takes the form of a hash constructed from a hashing function which uses characteristics of the asset as inputs. This hash will have to be a unique and near guaranteed indicator of the original content, to a high probability, so that the copy control system could live up to the spirit of the DTCP spec and the DLNA interoperability guidelines.

  • Patent number: 10033707
Abstract: A method and system is provided for efficient interruptible transfer of protected media assets. The method of asset transfer uses a segmented asset transfer paradigm which makes possible the implementation of such features as “watch as you transfer” and “offsetted resumption of interrupted transfers”. Implementation strategies of these features with support for segmented and contiguous media assets are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9884838
Abstract: The invention describes methods of preparation and compositions of plasticizers. The plasticizers include at least 2 alkyl ketal ester moieties and have a molecular weight of greater than 300. In one aspect, the alkyl ketal ester moieties are levulinic ester ketals. Certain compositions contain at least one of an antioxidant, a UV stabilizer, a thermal stabilizer or mixtures thereof, present in the composition from about 0.01 to about 5.0 percent by weight of the total composition.

  • Patent number: 9872085
Abstract: A method is provided for adding extended content data during data stream acquisition. The method includes receiving a request for a transition from a first data stream to a second data stream within a transitioning time period. The method also includes determining whether a timing of the transition is sufficient for insertion of at least a first portion of extended content data during the transition. The method also includes selecting the first portion of the extended content data as insertion content if the timing of the transition is sufficient for insertion of the first portion of the extended content data. The method also includes selecting a second portion of the extended content data as the insertion content if the timing is insufficient for insertion of the first portion of the extended content. The method also includes causing the insertion content to be presented to a user during the transition.

  • Patent number: 9840607
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a polyhydroxy ketal adduct obtained by the esterification of a hydrocarbon polyol by at least 1.5 equivalents of a ketocarboxy to produce an intermediate ketocarboxylic ester. The intermediate polyketocarboxylic ester is then ketalized to produce the polyhydroxyketal adduct, which can be used to provide a polymeric composition.
