  • Publication number: 20220042253
Abstract: The disclosure is directed towards a system for compacting a work area. The system includes a compactor, a first compaction sensor positioned on a forward end of the compactor, a second compaction sensor positioned on a rearward end of the compactor, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive a first compaction data associated with the work area from the first compaction sensor. The controller is further configured to determine a first compaction effort based on the first compaction data and control the compactor to perform compaction with the determined first compaction effort. The controller is configured to receive a second compaction data associated with a compacted first portion from the second compaction sensor and determine a variance between the first and the second compaction data. Furthermore, the controller is configured to determine a correlation between the variance and the first compaction effort to determine a second compaction effort.

  • Publication number: 20210070373
Abstract: A tire skirt support assembly for a compactor comprising a bracket and one or more skirt support members. The bracket can be oriented horizontally, and each skirt support member can have a body that is elongate with a first end and a second end opposite the first end. For each said skirt support member, the first end can be fixed to the bracket, and the second end can be below the bracket and is a free end configured to removably engage a skirt via an attachment opening in the skirt.

  • Patent number: 10920380
Abstract: A system and a method for controlling tire air pressure of a compactor having a plurality of tires. A weight distribution of the compactor is determined according to a per-tire basis. Target air pressures for each of the tires are determined in order to achieve a consistent compaction surface contact pressure across all of the tires or a set of the tires. Air pressure of the tires is controlled to achieve the target air pressures to make the compaction surface contact pressure consistent across all of the tires or the set of the tires.

  • Patent number: 10843634
Abstract: A cover for an operator console of a machine includes a first section rotatably coupled to the operator console. The first section selectively rotates between a first position and a second position about a rotational axis. The cover also includes a second section rotatably coupled to the operator console and the first section. The second section selectively rotates between a third position and a fourth position about the rotational axis. The second section is also adapted to engage with the first section during rotation of the second section from the third position to the fourth position to rotate the first section from the first position to the second position. The second section is further adapted to engage with the first section during rotation of the second section from the fourth position to the third position to rotate the first section from the second position to the first position.
