Abstract: This invention relates generally to an electronic touch key for electronic lock sets, and more particularly to an electronic key for use with a lock set. In an electronic key according to the invention, a cylinder plug associated with the lock set includes a fixed data contact pin, which is preferably flush with the face of a cylinder plug, to prevent tampering. The electronic key thus is designed to properly contact the fixed data contact associated with the lock set for proper operation. The present invention provides a construction which facilitates making the contact, and yet provides a durable and simple construction for the electronic key.

Abstract: An interconnected lock assembly for mounting in a door, comprising a first lock assembly and a second lock assembly interconnected by a rack mounted on a carrier component. The second lock assembly is operably connected to a deadbolt latch assembly comprising a deadbolt moveable between an extended position when the carrier component is in a lowered position and a retracted position when the carrier component is in a raised position. The lock further comprises a thumbturn attached to a thumbturn link component, wherein the thumbturn link pivotally connects the thumbturn to the rack such that the thumbturn is operably interconnected to the first lock assembly and the second lock assembly.

Abstract: An asymmetric carrier for an interconnected lock assembly mounted in a door comprising a carrier body having a rack fixably attached to the carrier body. The carrier body has an asymmetric cam surface on at least one side of the carrier body. The asymmetric cam surface is engageable by a cam of the interconnected lock assembly in either a clockwise or counter clockwise direction to move the carrier body in a vertical direction. The cam imparts a horizontal resultant force on the carrier body in the same direction and in generally the same magnitude, regardless of rotational direction of the cam.
