  • Publication number: 20220044506
Abstract: A system comprises a locking mechanism, a mobile device, and a communication device. The communication device is configured to receive an access request from the mobile device. The communication device is further configured to, in response to receiving the access request, generate an expiring electronic key, wherein the expiring electronic key includes an expiration time. The communication device is also configured to send the expiring electronic key to the mobile device. The mobile device is configured to send the access request to the communication device and to receive the expiring electronic key from the communication device via a text message service. The mobile device is also configured to activate the expiring electronic key. The locking mechanism is configured to, in response to the mobile device activating the expiring electronic key, perform a command on the locking mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20170274231
Abstract: Systems and methods for fire and smoke containment and extinguishing are described. Systems may include a fire and smoke containment and extinguishing apparatus including an open recess with one or more walls. The open recess may substantially prevent passage of fire, smoke and fumes. The apparatus may also include one or more seals for closing the open recess, and a fire extinguishing system. Methods for fire and smoke containment and extinguishment may include providing a fire and smoke containment and extinguishing system; inserting an item into the recess of the apparatus; closing the recess; and deploying the fire extinguishing system.

  • Publication number: 20060136460
Abstract: A model in which filter drivers are managed to receive callbacks for I/O requests in which the filter drivers have registered an interest. Per-volume instances of filter drivers register with a filter manager for pre-callbacks (for I/O to the file system) and post-callbacks (for I/O from the file system), and identify which I/O requests (e.g., create, read, write) they are registering to receive callbacks. The filter manager orders the instances for callbacks. When an I/O request is received, the filter manager converts the I/O request to callback data and calls the interested filters in the callback order, whereby the filter instances can process the I/O data. As the request returns from the file system, filters desiring post callbacks are called in the reverse order. Efficient context management for the filters and other functions, such as non-reentrant file I/O, are also provided by the model.

  • Publication number: 20050097143
Abstract: Systems and methods are described that facilitate management of file system filters, comprising a filter manager that maps altitudes of minifilters to legacy filter order groups. An aspect of the present invention provides for minifilters that can dynamically load and unload, thus facilitating increased flexibility in filter system management.

  • Publication number: 20050044075
Abstract: Late-binding/dynamic pathname resolution can be performed by a variable identifier operating in user or kernel mode, and a pathname engine and a data structure operating in kernel mode. The variable identifier identifies a variable in a pathname. The pathname engine evaluates the variable by converting the variable into a character string such that a path to an object file is established. The pathname engine determines a scope of potential character string values for the variable by mapping the variable to corresponding values stored in the data structure. Each variable has a well-defined scope of values because the only values available are the values selected for storage in the data structure. The mechanism for establishing values is extensible such that variable/value pairs can be implemented in the data structure at any time.
