Patent number: 9751737Abstract: An automotive lift system includes a plurality of posts and yoke assemblies. The yoke assemblies are slidably coupled to the posts such that the yoke assemblies are vertically moveable between a lowered position and a raised position. A pair of runways are secured between a respective pair of yoke assemblies and are configured to engage an automobile to thereby communicate vertical movement of the yoke assemblies to the automobile. The yoke assemblies include a structural frame and a pair of contact assemblies configured to engage opposing surfaces of the posts. The contact assemblies include an axle assembly having a pair of contact members (e.g., rollers, sliders, etc.) that are configured to engage an interior or exterior surface of the post. The axle assemblies are rotatable and/or articulable about a vertical axis parallel with the posts to thereby maintain proper engagement between the posts and the pairs of contact members.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2014Date of Patent: September 5, 2017Assignee: Vehicle Service Group, LLCInventors: Steven H. Patent number: 9254990Abstract: An automotive lift comprises a pair of runway sections. Each runway section comprises a deck portion, two pairs of legs, and a pair of elongate sliding members. The pairs of legs are pivotally coupled with the deck portion. The elongate sliding members are pivotally coupled with the pairs of legs and are slidable relative to the deck portion. A hydraulic cylinder assembly is coupled with the deck portion by a clevis and with the elongate sliding members by a piston and piston block. The hydraulic cylinder assembly is operable to translate the elongate sliding members relative to the deck portion, thereby pivoting the pairs of legs relative to the deck portion to lift the deck portion relative to the ground. A hydraulic system is operable to synchronize lifting of the runway sections. A braking mechanism is configured to restrict descent of the runway sections.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2011Date of Patent: February 9, 2016Assignee: Vehicle Service Group, LLCInventors: Jason E. Matthews, Douglas J. Brown, Gerald D. Bowers, Brian E. Kelley, Roger A. Ward, Keith W. Siddall

Publication number: 20110097187Abstract: A vehicle lift system comprises a vehicle lift and one or more laser modules. The vehicle lift includes one or more lifting members that are operable to selectively raise and lower a vehicle. The laser modules are operable to emit at least one laser beam to provide a visual indicator on a vehicle positioned relative to the one or more lifting members. The vehicle lift may include any type of lift. The visual indicator may include a line, crosshairs, target, dot, or anything else, including combinations and patterns. The visual indicator may flash or remain solid. The visual indicator may be any color (e.g., green). One or more sensors may provide activation and/or de-activation of the laser modules in response to sensing the presence of a vehicle. An operator may view the visual indicator on the vehicle to confirm proper positioning of the vehicle relative to the lifting members.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 17, 2010Publication date: April 28, 2011Applicant: VEHICLE SERVICE GROUP, LLCInventors: Brian E.
