  • Publication number: 20150286667
Abstract: Provided are methods and systems for improving entity listings. A cluster of listings having geographic proximity is determined and various evaluations of the listings in the cluster are performed. An attribute associated with a selected listing of the cluster may be compared to one or more attributes of the other listings and may be modified based on the comparison. Additionally, a census of the listings in the cluster may be performed and the cluster may be classified based on the census. A category associated with a selected listing may be modified based on the classification of the cluster.

  • Patent number: 8693458
Abstract: The disclosure described technology for presenting information via a mobile communication device in a transportation network, the transportation network modeled by segment and time slot. Information tagged by modeled segment, modeled time slot, and aggregate demographics of a target audience in the modeled segment and modeled time slot is received. The aggregate demographics include at least route context of transportation network users in the segment and time slot. The received information, including received tagged information, is published to a communication network of the mobile communication device. The published information is filtered for published information tagged with aggregate demographics corresponding to demographics of the mobile communication device—demographics of the mobile communication device including at least a route context of the mobile communication device. The filtered information is presented via the mobile communication device.

  • Publication number: 20120016574
Abstract: A mobile device can function as a probe to sense conditions on roads and other areas of interest. A mobile device can have a GPS receiver to receive traces of GPS fixes. In a system with many such probes, it may be desirable to reduce an amount of GPS data reported by each device. To reduce such data reporting, a trace of GPS fixes is approximated by a selection of representative GPS fixes. Examples of how such a selection can be made are disclosed. Parameters and other behaviour by each device functioning as a probe can be set by central controller; for example, probes can be turned on and off, reporting frequencies can be adjusted, and thresholds used in the approximation can be set.
