Patent number: 7452222Abstract: A cap facility for a medical cable having a terminal defining a rimmed chamber containing electrical contacts. The facility has a frame that connects to the terminal. An arm is connected to the frame, and is movable between a first closed position and a second open position. The arm is biased to the closed position, and has a cap adapted to enclose the rimmed chamber when the arm is in the closed position. The cap has an arcuate motion path between the open position and an intermediate position proximate to the closed position, and an initial motion path deviating from the arcuate path, such that the cap moves away from the rim initially upon departing from the closed position. The facility may have a camming mechanism that provides the path.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2003Date of Patent: November 18, 2008Assignee: Precision Interconnect, Inc.Inventors: James Francis McIntire, Brian Erik Haug

Publication number: 20080249389Abstract: An electrode lead set is provided for electrical connection to a body. The electrode lead set includes a flexible substrate core extending between a proximal end portion and a distal end portion. The distal end portion includes a plurality of branch end portions that are each configured to hold an electrode. The substrate core is separable into a plurality of branches that are each joined to adjacent branches by a separable interface prior to separation. Each of the plurality of branches includes a corresponding one of the branch end portions. Prior to separation, the plurality of branches are configured such that the branch end portions are maintained in an array at the distal end portion of the substrate core. An electrically conductive pathway extends along each branch from the corresponding branch end portion toward the proximal end portion of the substrate core.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 3, 2007Publication date: October 9, 2008Inventors: Brian Erik Haug, James Francis McIntire

Patent number: 6679730Abstract: A connector assembly with front and rear bodies (50, 40) and a surrounding shell (12), has a potting material (72) that is molded around the cable (20) and within a rear body passageway (70) in a manner that avoids leakage of the potting material. The shell outside surface has outwardly-projecting ridges (124, 141-144) for effectively grasping the connector, and the front body is latchable to the shell with robust latch arms (174). An O-ring (80) lying forward of the threading connections (52, 54) of the bodies limits leakage of the potting material flowed under pressure into the passageway. The outer shell is molded with ridges (124, 141-144) extending in loops that facilitate correct gripping and avoid slipping of the thumb on the connector. The front body has slots (170, 172) forming latch arms that latch to openings in the shell, the arms being formed by slots with enlarged ends (190, 192).Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2002Date of Patent: January 20, 2004Assignees: ITT Manufacturing Enterprises, Inc., Precision Interconnect, A Ludlow LP CompanyInventors: David Eugene Dye, James Francis McIntire, Scott Jeffrey Thiel, Brian Erik Haug
