  • Publication number: 20070213606
Abstract: A device for providing an indication of moisture present in skin of a user includes a device body including a skin contact portion. A sensor circuit is located in the device body. The sensor circuit is configured to produce an output signal having a signal value that corresponds to moisture level in the skin with the skin contact portion in contact with the skin at a skin measurement location. A controller is in communication with the sensor circuit and is configured to determine the signal value of the output signal. The controller stores a first signal value in memory corresponding to a first output signal produced with the skin contact portion in contact with the skin of the user at a first skin measurement location. The controller stores a second signal value in memory corresponding to a second output signal generated with the contact portion in contact with the skin of the user at a second skin measurement location different from the first skin measurement location.

  • Publication number: 20060247608
Abstract: A laser-based refractive surgery system includes a laser source including a laser controller, wherein at least a portion of the incident beam is directed to target eye tissue of a patient. The incident beam portion produces a reflected beam after striking the eye tissue. The system includes at least one detector for detecting the reflected beam. A computer or data processor is communicably coupled to the detector and the laser controller. The computer or data processor generates a cross-correlation function using a plurality of discrete points which digitally represent a waveform representation of the reflected beam and a plurality of reference points. The reference points are preferably associated with a digital representation of the incident beam. The laser controller receives and utilizes the cross-correlation function or parameter derived therefrom, or the ablation rate, and adjusts at least one operating parameter of the laser beam in real-time during a refractive procedure.

  • Publication number: 20060105568
Abstract: A method for forming a semiconductor device (10) includes forming an organic anti-reflective coating (OARC) layer (18) over the semiconductor device (10). A tetra-ethyl-ortho-silicate (TEOS) layer (20) is formed over the OARC layer (18). The TEOS layer (20) is exposed to oxygen-based plasma at a temperature of at most about 300 degrees Celsius. In an alternative embodiment, the TEOS layer (20) is first exposed to a nitrogen-based plasma before being exposed to the oxygen-based plasma. A photoresist layer (22) is formed over the TEOS layer (20) and patterned. By applying oxygen based plasma and nitrogen based plasma to the TEOS layer (20) before applying photoresist, pattern defects are reduced.
