  • Publication number: 20220349149
Abstract: A method and apparatus for excavation using vibration and vacuum may be connected to a vehicle, mounted to either a chassis or trailer. The apparatus comprises a vacuum tube with an input end. A vacuum generator provides suction at the input end of the vacuum tube, thereby drawing a stream of fluidized material into the vacuum tube. Affixed to the vacuum tube is a vibration generator which causes the vacuum tube to vibrate. The use of the vibration and suction eliminates the need for fluid-based vacuum systems.

  • Patent number: 9038937
Abstract: A media spindle apparatus for supporting a media roll having media to be delivered to a printing apparatus. The apparatus includes a spindle configured to support the roll. The spindle defines an axial direction about which the roll rotates relative to the printing apparatus to deliver the media to the printing apparatus. A guide member is supported by the spindle and guides the media to the printing apparatus. The guide member is positionable in a first configuration in which a securing mechanism is disengaged and the guide member is translatable substantially in the axial direction relative to the spindle. The guide member is pivotable about the axial direction relative to the spindle to move to a second configuration and thereby engage the securing mechanism to inhibit the guide member from translating in the axial direction relative to the spindle and pivoting from the second configuration to the first configuration.

  • Patent number: 8539869
Abstract: An improved guillotine cutter for a printer is disclosed. The guillotine cutter includes a guillotine blade having a cutting motion that helps to urge the cut media from the exit chute of the frame. This reduces the likelihood of the cut media becoming pulled into the frame of the cutter, requiring that the user fish the cut media out. The guillotine cutter further provides a frame having integrated bearing surfaces for supporting many of the movable components of the cutter. This minimizes the complexity of the assembly of the cutter, reducing the number of parts (by elimination of separate bearings and other such additional components) and time required to assemble the cutter.
