  • Patent number: 6612254
Abstract: In a device for towing riders on or through the water it is known to have planar board(s) or wing(s). In this invention, there are two independently operated symmetrical wings hinged to wing supports. The fore mounted wing supports are secured to, and are perpendicular to, the longitudinal body of the craft which creates a front to rear axial line. The wings have hand hold openings through them at their trailing edge and are manually operated, up or down, by the slightly forward arms of a single prone rider who is aft of the wings. A belly board secured on top of the body of the craft and aft of wings, a knee brace perpendicular to the body of the craft and aft of the belly board, and a foot rest perpendicular to the body of the craft and aft of the knee brace; secures, and makes comfortable, the rider to the craft.

  • Patent number: 6549878
Abstract: Editing cells within a spreadsheet to change the contents of a spreadsheet. To enter edit mode and alter the contents of a cell, the user first selects a cell by single clicking a mouse button while the mouse indicator is positioned above the cell. The user then initiates another single click when the mouse indicator is positioned above the selected cell. Once edit mode is active, the user may change the contents of the cell from within the web browser window as desired. Edit mode can be exited through one of three methods: an “exit and save” signal, an “exit and discard” signal, or a click and drag maneuver. The exit and save signal prompts the invention to save all changes to the cell that the user has made. The exit and discard signal prompts the invention to discard any changes made to the cell by the user, revert to the pre-edit mode contents of the edit cell, and exit edit mode. Finally, a click and drag maneuver not only exits edit mode, but selects a range of cells.

  • Publication number: 20020087705
Abstract: A contract management system accessible by a plurality of users is disclosed, which has a data store containing user data and project data, said user data including, for each user, a user-type identifier indicating whether said user is a contract manager, client, clerical support or a consultant; project control means accessible by a contract manager to create project data for a project, said project data including an indication of user data for a consultant engaged under contract for the project, and deliverables data corresponding to deliverables to be provided under said contract, and financial data for said project; said project control means being accessible by the consultant to submit financial data for a project which the consultant is engaged on, and to submit variations to said financial data for a said project; said project control means being further accessible by said contract manager for a project to authorise said variatons to the financial data for that project and to authorise payment to the c

  • Patent number: 6109289
Abstract: A drain valve of an air braking system for vehicles has a drainage piston, a main sump and auxiliary sump. Moisture passes from the main sump to the auxiliary sump in response to pressure at a signal port which closes off air supply through ports. A reduction in pressure at the signal port causes the ports to be reconnected and allows moisture to be expelled through the drainage outlet.

  • Patent number: 6102754
Abstract: The invention is directed to a bus bar contact having a body with two mating ends. One of the mating ends has a tab contact portion. The other of the mating ends having a receptacle contact portion. The receptacle contact portion has a plurality of resilient fingers for providing an electrical interface. The resilient fingers are stamped and formed from the body member wherein adjacent resilient fingers are sheared from each other thereby removing no material from between the adjacent resilient fingers.

  • Patent number: 6006383
Abstract: A mattress cover, for use on an air inflatable mattress which reduces the risk of bed sores in long term patients. The cover has a top sheet and side sheets attached to opposite edges of the top sheet. The length of the top sheet, in a laid-flat state, is greater than the length of the side sheets attached to the top sheet. This allows the cover to closely follow the undulating nature of the inflatable cells of the mattress, and zero pressure may be achieved. The cover may also comprise end sheets, an outer skirt, and a base portion. The present invention also provides a method of making cover, which comprises the step of stretching the side portions, while the top sheet is in a substantially unstretched condition, and then joining the side sheets in their stretched condition to the top sheet.

  • Patent number: 3973728
Abstract: In an internal combustion engine air cleaner, a thermal sensor delivers a vacuum signal to a vacuum motor which actuates a valve unit controlling admission of ambient temperature and heated air. The sensor receives induction passage vacuum and has a bimetal strip which positions an acetal resin valve ball in an air bleed to create a vacuum signal which varies inversely with changes in the induction air temperature, the bimetal strip and valve ball being enclosed within a protective metal housing which permits prompt response to changes in induction air temperature. This construction permits the induction air flow to be maintained at a predetermined temperature.
