  • Patent number: 11480560
Abstract: A system comprising a respirator, a biochip, and an atomizer for studying respiratory pathogens. The respirator of the system is configured to create breathe-mimicking air movement, the biochip comprises an airway lumen in fluid communication with the respirator, and the atomizer is in fluid communication with the airway lumen of the biochip, according to various embodiments. The atomizer may be configured to generate droplets of a respiratory pathogen (e.g., from liquid inoculum). In various embodiments, the breath-mimicking air movement comprises air volume as a function of time, wherein the respirator is configured to generate breathing cycles.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 11, 2019
Date of Patent: October 25, 2022
Assignee: The Regents of the University of Colorado, A Body Corporate
Inventors: Kambez Hajipouran Benam, Brian Frazier Niemeyer, Alexander Joseph Kaiser

  • Patent number: 7934459
Abstract: Ergonomic workstations include devices with raising and lowering elements, such as tables and desks. The devices include one or more legs, and when more than one leg is present, each leg is substantially parallel to the other legs. Each leg is provided with a base for attaching the leg to another or to multiple other legs. The devices further include one or more sub-surfaces for connecting one or more of the legs and one or more top surfaces. The substructure is provided with more than one arrangement of hole patterns for attaching the top surface and/or the legs. In some aspects, the devices include two top surfaces which are raised or lowered by actuators in the legs. The plurality of legs can either maintain the second top surface at a constant height, or can raise and lower the second top surface independent of the first top surface.

  • Patent number: 7748022
Abstract: A method and apparatus provides for real-time video data characterization and fast image retrieval. According to one aspect, a token is generated based on blocks or portions of data in a data stream. A mathematical algorithm that operates in real-time during a capture process is used to generate the token. The generated tokens are stored together with the captured data. According to another aspect, a retrieval system compares a token value to obtain matching tokens within a given set of thresholds and corresponding data from the stored captured data.

  • Publication number: 20090238760
Abstract: Hexahydroindenopyridine compounds are disclosed which act as contraceptive agents by disrupting spermatogenesis, acting as spermicides or sperm motility inhibitors and/or act as antifungals; antispermatogenic, sperm motility inhibitors, spermicidal or antifungal compositions containing the compounds; and methods for disrupting spermatogenesis, inhibiting sperm motility, killing motile sperm or treating fungi using the compounds and compositions. Also disclosed are radioactive compounds which may be used to study the binding of antifertility compounds to specific sites in the body and the use of such compounds for that purpose.

  • Publication number: 20070068429
Abstract: Devices with raising and lowering elements, such as tables and desks, are disclosed. The devices include one or more legs, and when more than one leg is present, each leg is substantially parallel to the other(s). Each leg is, independently, either provided with a base, or with a means for attaching the leg to another or to multiple other legs. The devices further include one or more sub-surfaces for connecting one or more of the legs and also to one or more top surfaces. In one aspect, the substructure is provided with more than one arrangement of pre-determined means for attaching the top surface and/or the legs. In some aspects, the devices include two top surfaces which are raised or lowered by means of actuators in the legs.
