  • Publication number: 20240092885
Abstract: The present disclosure provides gene therapy expression constructs comprising a nucleic acid encoding a therapeutic anti-TNFalpha antibody (e.g., a monoclonal antibody) or an antigen binding fragment thereof, delivery vectors (e.g., viral vectors) comprising the same, compositions comprising the same, and methods of using the same (e.g., to treat ocular diseases or disorders). Some aspects of the disclosure are directed to a recombinant adeno-viral vector (rAAV) delivery comprising an AAV particle (e.g., AAV2) and a nucleic acid encoding a therapeutic anti-TNFalpha antibody (e.g., a monoclonal antibody) or an antigen binding fragment thereof.

  • Publication number: 20220162638
Abstract: The present disclosure provides the gene therapy compositions comprising vectors (e.g., viral vectors) suitable for delivery of nucleic acids encoding immunomodulatory proteins or functional fragments thereof, and methods of using the same. Certain aspects of the disclosure are directed to an adeno-viral vector (AAV) delivery of nucleic acids encoding two or more immunomodulatory proteins or functional fragments thereof to a tumor.

  • Patent number: 9132280
Abstract: A method of photodynamic therapy to treat diseased cells in an animal is generally provided. According to the method, 5-amino-2,2-dimethyl-6-[3?-(R,S)amino-4?-hydroxy-butan-1-one]-2,3-dihydro-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one or an analog thereof is administered to the animal such that the 5-amino-2,2-dimethyl-6-[3?-(R,S)amino-4?-hydroxy-butan-1-one]-2,3-dihydro-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one or an analog thereof accumulates in the diseased cells. Then, the diseased cells containing 5-amino-2,2-dimethyl-6-[3?-(R,S)amino-4?-hydroxy-butan-1-one]-2,3-dihydro-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one or an analog thereof is exposed to light energy (e.g., ultraviolet light).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 27, 2012
Date of Patent: September 15, 2015
    Assignee: University of South Carolina

  • Publication number: 20110100821
Abstract: A protective sheath for use with an immobilized pH gradient (IPG) strip in an isoelectric focusing (IEF) process is generally disclosed. The protective sheath can inhibit dehydration of the IPG strip during use through loss of water to the atmosphere and/or migration of water due to electroosmotic flow without the use of mineral oil or another water-immiscible liquid. The protective sheath can generally be configured in a tube-like shape having an inner cavity. The protective sheath can define a top surface, a bottom surface, two side surfaces, a sealed end, and an open end. The top surface can have at least 2 openings, which can be covered by pull-tabs.
