  • Patent number: 8857066
Abstract: A power saw includes an electric motor, an impact assembly, and a blade retaining assembly. The impact assembly is coupled to an output shaft and includes a hammer member and an anvil member. The blade retaining assembly is coupled to the impact assembly and includes a blade coupling configured to connect to a saw blade. The impact assembly is configured to operate in a first mode when a mechanical load on the blade retaining assembly is below a threshold value. The impact assembly is configured to operate in a second mode when the mechanical load on the blade retaining assembly is greater than or equal to the threshold value. The hammer member is maintained in a fixed position relative to the anvil member when the impact assembly operates in the first mode. The hammer member intermittently impacts the anvil member when the impact assembly operates in the second mode.

  • Patent number: 8667875
Abstract: A power tool assembly includes an anvil having an accessory receiving end portion that defines a detent bore. A detent is positioned in the detent bore and movable between a retracted position and an extended position in the detent bore. A biasing member is configured to urge the detent toward the extended position. The detent includes an upper detent portion having a trailing abutment surface, a trailing top surface portion, and a leading top surface portion. When the detent is positioned in the extended position, the trailing abutment surface and the trailing top surface portion are located outside of the detent bore, and the leading top surface portion is located within the detent bore. When the detent is positioned in the retracted position, the trailing abutment surface is located within the detent bore, and the leading top surface portion is located within the detent bore.

  • Publication number: 20050012673
Abstract: An antenna (100) for RF communications. The antenna includes a radiating member (102) which is substantially tubular so as to define a cavity (104) therein. The radiating member (102) is made of a conductive material having a non-conductive slot (106) extending from a first portion (108) of the radiating member (102) to a second portion (110). An impedance matching device (120) is electrically connected to the radiating member (102) via a conductor (134) to match an impedance of the radiating member (102) with an impedance of a signal source or an impedance of a load. The impedance matching device (120), the conductor (134), and at least a portion of the radiating member radiating element (102) can formed from a single conductive sheet, or molded or extruded as a single conductive structure.
