  • Publication number: 20170149644
Abstract: Techniques for adaptive metric collection, metric storage, and alert thresholds are described. In an approach, a metric collector computer processes metrics as a collection of key/value pairs. The key/value pairs represent the dimensionality of the metrics and allows for semantic queries on the metrics based on keys. In an approach, a storage controller computer maintains a storage system with multiple storage tiers ranked by speed of access. The storage computer stores policy data that specifies the rules by which metric records are stored across the multiple storage tiers. Periodically, the storage computer moves database records to higher or lower tiers based on the policy data. In an approach, a metric collector in response to receiving a new metric, generates a predicted metric value based on previously recorded metric values and measures the deviation from the new metric value to determine whether an alert is appropriate.

  • Publication number: 20160097846
Abstract: A system for ultrasound beamforming is provided, including a sampled analog beamformer, an array of ultrasound transducers, and a high voltage amplifier coupled to the sampled analog beamformer and the array of ultrasound transducers. The sampled analog beamformer includes a sampled analog filter for filtering an incoming analog signal and adding a fractional delay, and transmitting a filtered analog ultrasound signal. The array of ultrasound transducers further transmits the filtered analog ultrasound signal. The high voltage amplifier drives transducers in the array of ultrasound transducers.

  • Patent number: 8152610
Abstract: A method of harvesting crop material includes gathering the crop material and separating chaff material, and subjecting the chaff material to fragmentation in a cage mill to destroy unwanted seed material contained therein. Also provided is a mobile agricultural apparatus which travels with a harvesting machine during a harvesting operation to receive chaff material produced during the harvesting operation. At least one cage mill having rotors for fragmentation of the chaff material is included with the mobile apparatus, to destroy unwanted seed material contained therein. Such a cage mill includes at least a casing defining a milling zone, a rotor for performing milling, an inlet for introducing material for reduction into the milling zone, an outlet for removal of material from the milling zone, and an airflow through the milling zone to assist movement of the material through the milling zone from the inlet to the outlet.

  • Patent number: 6163579
Abstract: A broadband modem hybrid transformer couples a broadband modem to a plain-old-telephone (POTs) line. The hybrid includes a full bridge having an impedance matching network to reduce the transhybrid attenuation of the hybrid. The second matching network(s) include various resistive and reactive components which together provide an impedance value selected based upon the impedance of the telephone line typically reflected into the primary windings of the transformer. The matching network increases the transhybrid attenuation of the hybrid, and thus reducing the amount of noise which couples from the modem transmit circuit to the modem receive circuit through the hybrid.
