Abstract: An intake for a downhole pump includes an outer tubular member having a central axis. In addition, the intake includes an inner tubular member disposed within the outer tubular member. The inner tubular member is radially spaced from the outer tubular member to form an outer annular flow path radially positioned between the inner tubular member and the outer tubular member. Further, the intake includes a central shaft rotatably disposed within the inner tubular member. The central shaft is radially spaced from the inner tubular member to form an inner annular flow path radially positioned between the central shaft and the inner tubular member. Still further, the intake includes a plurality of inlet apertures extending radially through the outer tubular member and in fluid communication with the outer annular flow path. Each of the plurality of inlet apertures has a circumferential width W between 5% and 50% of a total circumference of the outer tubular member.

The apparatus includes: a broadband signal generator; a driver having an input coupled to the signal generator; a light source coupled to the driver, the light source for exposing the tissue to broadband modulated light at a plurality of wavelengths; an optical detector for receiving returned light from the tissue; an amplitude detection circuit communicated to the optical detector; a phase detection circuit communicated to the optical detector; and a plurality of filters and amplifiers, wherein the optical detector, amplitude detection circuit and phase detection circuit are interconnected with each other by corresponding ones of the plurality of filters and amplifiers to isolate signals and increase signal-to-noise ratio.

A second method includes obtaining summed difference values between the first and second radar responses, where each of the summed difference values corresponds to different time shifts between the first and second radar response, and deriving from the summed difference values a time-delay associated with the target's motion from the first field of view to the second field of view. A third method combines the time-delays or associated speeds obtained from independent estimators.

The collapsible cup holder comprises a cylindrical body constructed of two side pieces attached together to form a continuous side wall and two bottom pieces are attached together to form a closed bottom. The closed bottom is then attached to the continuous side wall in a manner which forms a cup receiving cavity inside the continuous side wall and above the closed bottom. The point of attachment for the side pieces and the bottom pieces forms sewn seams which provide a joint which allows the side piece and bottom piece on a first side of the cylindrical body to be folded over on top of the side piece and bottom piece on a second side.
