Publication number: 20240421503Abstract: Various arrangements for positioning antennas, grounds, and a decoupling element are described herein. A display is mounted within a first area of an enclosure of the electronic device. A first antenna and second antenna that operate at one or more frequency bands are mounted within the enclosure. A decoupling element is mounted within a cavity area of the enclosure that, at least partially, isolates the first antenna from the second antenna, wherein a position of the decoupling element defines a common edge of a first cavity area that includes the first antenna and a second cavity area that includes the second antenna, and a first length of the decoupling element is less than a second length of the common edge.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 14, 2024Publication date: December 19, 2024Applicant: Google LLCInventors: Huanyu Chen, Brian Huynh

Patent number: 12088999Abstract: The present document describes a textile-assembly toolkit for reversible assembly of a textile to an electronic-speaker device. The toolkit includes multiple attachment features, including rigid features with matched purposefully-designed knit types that can be combined to enable repeatable, mass-producible, reversible assembly of the textile to the electronic-speaker device. The techniques described herein enable accurate alignment of the textile on the electronic-speaker device without distorting the textile's cosmetic pattern and in a manner that results in no visible edges of the textile or visible attachment features on the exterior of the electronic-speaker device. Also, the textile-assembly toolkit includes attachment features that secure the textile with sufficient tension to avoid acoustic distortion such as rub and buzz.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2023Date of Patent: September 10, 2024Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Laura Charlotte Shumaker, Brian Huynh, Edmond Lu, Phanindraja Ancha, Robert Sean Murphy, Myrrhia R. Patent number: 12074003Abstract: Various arrangements of smart home devices are presented herein. A chassis assembly of a smart home device may define one or more compartments. The chassis assembly may include a plurality of cover fasteners. A rotatable cover assembly may be present and configured to be removably attached with the plurality of cover fasteners to the chassis assembly in any rotational orientation and to at least partially cover a front of the chassis assembly. While the rotatable cover is removably attached with the plurality of cover fasteners, the rotatable cover assembly is configured to block access to the one or more compartments defined by the chassis assembly.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2018Date of Patent: August 27, 2024Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Giancarlo Giustina, Yu-Cheng Pan, Peter Privitera, Chang-Wei Wu, Aditya Narayanan, Ssu-Chieh Yu, Bhaveya Dhall, Jungmin Han, Brian Huynh, Sung Bai

Patent number: 11787164Abstract: The present document describes an apparatus for reducing fabric dimpling in electronic devices and associated methods. The apparatus is used during assembly to prevent fabric, which is stretched over a perforated part (e.g., speaker housing), from dimpling into the holes (e.g., perforations) of the perforated part. The apparatus includes protrusions (e.g., pins), which act as a negative of the holes in the perforated part, to support the fabric as it is stretched over the perforated part. In particular, the protrusions are inserted through the perforations via an interior surface of the perforated part such that the protrusions are “proud” (slightly projecting from a surface) with respect to an exterior surface of the perforated part. The proudness of the protrusions may vary based on a degree of curvature of the perforated part at a location corresponding to a respective protrusion.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2022Date of Patent: October 17, 2023Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Phanindraja Ancha, Yu Wei Chen, Brian Huynh

Publication number: 20090127397Abstract: The invention disclosed herein includes a parachute airdrop system and method for releasing cargo from a parachute. The system includes a locking device that connects cargo to a parachute, an impact sensor unit associated with the cargo, and a transceiver unit associated with the parachute. A controller processes signals generated by the impact sensor to determine whether threshold conditions are satisfied which indicates that the cargo has impacted a surface. When the threshold conditions are satisfied, a control signal is sent to the transceiver unit, preferably wirelessly. The transceiver unit then generates a fire control signal for firing a charge to release the locking device to thereby disconnect the parachute from the cargo.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 7, 2008Publication date: May 21, 2009Inventors: Bevan Hyunh, Thien-Bach Brian Huynh
