Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide a dual-purpose bench locker providing a seating area and an internal, secure package receptacle. When the user is expecting a package delivery, the bench seat can be opened to allow for the insertion of the package(s) to be delivered into a package compartment inside the bench and underneath the seat. Once the package is placed into the package compartment by the delivery person, the seat can be closed causing an internal latch, lock, or similar mechanism to secure the seat in the closed position, thereby securing the package inside the package compartment. To retrieve the package, the user can use a key to open a door positioned to provide access to the internal latch securing the seat in the closed position, thereby releasing the seat and allowing the user to open the package compartment and retrieve the package.
