  • Publication number: 20230097058
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for processing PFAS-contaminated waste via thermomechanochemical (TMC) processing. In one example, a system may include a TMC processing chamber including a milling system and coupled to a heating system, the heating system configured to co-operate with the milling system to process the waste material. A plurality of containers including the waste material in one or more of a liquid-solid state, a semi-wet or slurry solid state, and a dry solid state are coupled to the TMC chamber.

  • Patent number: 8062610
Abstract: For analysis of small quatities of target analytes in an environment, the gas flow can be delivered to a suitably fast analyzer and their concentration determined in a time period whose duration is dependent on the analyte, its concentration and the phase separation properties. A device having a sorbent bed that is essentially concentric with a passage way containing thermal fluid is used to concentrate the target analyte.

  • Patent number: 5185134
Abstract: A method of diminishing the amount of chlorinated organics released to the atmosphere in the incineration of wastes which includes injecting calcium-based sorbents into the flue gas to react with HCl to form calcium-chlorine compounds to remove the HCl from the flue gas and prevent it from forming the chlorinated organics. The flue gas carries the sorbent from the injection zone to the reactive temperature zone quickly enough such that the sorbent is not exposed to temperatures which would degrade the effectiveness of the sorbent, the reactive temperature zone being in the range of 300.degree. C. to 900.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 5021229
Abstract: A method of diminishing the amount of chlorinated organics released to the atmosphere in the incineration of wastes which includes injecting calcium-based sorbents into the flue gas at around 700.degree. C. to react with HCl to remove it from the flue gas to prevent it from forming the chlorinated organics.
