  • Publication number: 20190337452
Abstract: A system for controlling vehicle components including a rear wiper system and a full display mirror (FDM) system is described herein. The system includes a rear wiper system switch including an OFF position and at least one activated position. The system also includes an FDM control switch including an OFF position and an ON position. The system also includes a control unit communicatively coupled to the rear wiper system switch and the FDM switch and configured to activate a rear wiper activation indicator when the rear wiper system switch is in the at least one activated position and the FDM switch is in the ON position.

  • Patent number: 9988014
Abstract: Some embodiments are directed to a vehicle remote keyless entry system that can control functions of a vehicle can include a transceiver, a processor based controller, and a remote device. The controller is configured to predefine one or more substantially concentric radio frequency authorization zones around the controller that includes at least a first zone and a second zone, a boundary of the second zone being predefined as closer around the controller than a boundary of the first zone. The controller is configured to instruct the transceiver to transmit a polling signal, which can be received by the remote device within the one or more concentric authorization zones, with different polling intervals for each of the first zone and the second zone. The controller selectively enables one or more of the vehicle functions when the controller determines the remote device is located outside of the second zone.

  • Patent number: 9976322
Abstract: A lock-out protection system of a vehicle is configured for use with a portable transceiver, the vehicle having an interior and doors configured to open and close to facilitate ingress to and egress from the interior and being lockable and unlockable upon issuance of corresponding commands, and the transceiver configured to send and receive signals. The system can include a processor configured to, upon receipt of a door lock command when a door is in open position and then moved to closed position: determine presence or absence of the transceiver inside the vehicle interior and outside the vehicle interior; and issue a door unlock command if the processor determines that the transceiver is absent both inside the vehicle interior and outside the vehicle interior.
