  • Publication number: 20170090738
Abstract: A system and method for user modification of metadata in a shell browser. A group of items and associated metadata values are displayed in a window of the shell browser. An edit control permits user modification of metadata values displayed in the window. The user can modify metadata associated with a welcome pane, a selected item, or multiple selected items. • Patent number: 8651134
Abstract: A draining tool useful for controlled draining of a fluid container, such as a threaded spin-on type oil filter. The draining tool includes a piercing pin having a tapered point, striking head, resilient spring, resilient spring retainer assembly, and piercing pin retainer assembly. The draining tool includes a central block having an axial bore housing the piercing pin, and an internal chamber having a channel permitting drainage of fluid from the internal chamber. One end of the central block provides an attachment assembly suitable for holding the tool against the fluid container allowing the fluid container to be pierced by the piercing pin and the internal chamber to receive fluid flowing from the fluid container.

  • Patent number: 7409644
Abstract: A file system shell is provided. One aspect of the shell provides virtual folders which expose regular files and folders to users in different views based on their metadata instead of the actual physical underlying file system structure on the disk. Users are able to work with the virtual folders through direct manipulation (e.g., clicking and dragging, copying, pasting, etc.). Filters are provided for narrowing down sets of items. Quick links are provided which can be clicked on to generate useful views of the sets of items. Libraries are provided which consist of large groups of usable types of items that can be associated together, along with functions and tools related to the items. A virtual address bar is provided which comprises a plurality of segments, each segment corresponding to a filter for selecting content. A shell browser is provided with which users can readily identify an item based on the metadata associated with that item.

  • Patent number: 7234114
Abstract: A system and method for extending the functionality of an object previewed in a shell browser to improve the user experience. The shell browser provides an extensibility mechanism so that third party developers can extend the functionality of the default previewer for particular file types. A graphical user interface includes a control which enables a user to select a previewer for displayed files from a plurality of available previewers. Alternatively, the shell browser can automatically select a previewer from a plurality of available previewers. A data structure contains information indicative of the availability of multiple previewers in a shell browser.

  • Publication number: 20060199615
Abstract: A system and method for generating multiple radiation patterns is disclosed here. An antenna system comprises an antenna array having one or more antennas for providing a first radiation pattern and a second radiation pattern, a transform matrix for transforming one or more inputs into one or more outputs according to a transform function, wherein the outputs of the transform matrix provide signals to the antennas with predetermined phases and magnitudes for generating the first and second radiation patterns, and a transmitter for providing a first set of signals corresponding to the first radiation pattern and a second set of signals corresponding to the second radiation pattern to inputs of the transform matrix.

  • Patent number: 5853105
Abstract: A container for food products which includes a large, smooth, continuously curved label area on a front wall, a large label area on a top cover, and a pair of stabilizing projections such as beads associated with the bottom edge of the front wall to stabilize the container in a display position in which the top wall is tilted up to an inclined upright position rather than a horizontal position, with the stabilizing projections engaging a support surface on which the container is supported. In its preferred embodiment, the container comprises a pair of compartments joined by a generally horizontal web having a flange which includes a flat stabilizing front transverse edge portion to cooperate with the stabilizing projections on the curved bottom edge of the front wall. The compartments comprise a larger front compartment and a smaller rear compartment to maintain an acceptably low center of mass for satisfactory stability when the container is in its inclined position.
