  • Patent number: 9230402
Abstract: A progressive jackpot system includes a progressive jackpot system controller, and a plurality of gaming machines coupled to the progressive jackpot system controller and participating in a progressive jackpot game in which a progressive jackpot is awarded in response to a triggering event at one of the gaming machines. A method of operating the progressive jackpot system includes maintaining data in the progressive jackpot system controller representing a composite progressive jackpot pool comprising a predetermined base component, and an incremental component funded by a portion of wagers made at the gaming machines. A message is sent from the gaming machine to the progressive jackpot system controller in response to the occurrence of a triggering event on the gaming machine. The message indicates that the triggering event has occurred and includes data representing a desired proportion of the progressive jackpot pool to award to the player.

  • Patent number: 7934993
Abstract: A method and system for configuring a progressive system that insures enhanced operative control and security of the progressive system. The progressive controller provides one or more electronic security keys to access and verify modifications to the progressive configuration. The allocated number of gaming devices connected to the progressive system is authenticated by a dedicated electronic security key. Gaming devices in excess of the allocation are disabled from the progressive system. The electronic security keys are configured with an expiration parameter that requires gaming establishments to remain current with respect to progressive system agreements. The data on the progressive controller is established so it may be read by browser interface software. Progressive system configuration parameters are automatically acquired and authenticated by the progressive controller.

  • Publication number: 20080004996
Abstract: A system and method for providing service to a casino customer is disclosed. A database is provided for collecting and storing customer preference information. The customer is preferably provided with a casino card or other element that identifies the customer and is used to pair the customer with his or her preference information. A first communication link is provided between the database and a service center, such as a bar, to send customer preference information, such as a beverage, for preparation. A second communication link is provided between a tracking server and the service center to transmit information regarding the specific location of the customer. After the service center prepares the preferred item, it is delivered to the customer. In one embodiment, the service system is associated with a casino customer reward system that rewards a customer based on gaming activity.
