  • Patent number: 8812207
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting and correcting mismatches between an electronic shifter position and a vehicle's actual transmission gear. The method and system implement a correction scheme that may initially set a period for manual correction, if possible, then initiate automatic correction if correction is required.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 7, 2012
Date of Patent: August 19, 2014
Assignees: Chrysler Group LLC, Kostal of America

  • Patent number: 6592494
Abstract: A clutch pedal assembly is provided including a support bracket for pivotally mounting a clutch arm and an actuator arm. The clutch arm includes a clutch pedal for enabling actuation by a vehicle operator and the actuator arm is attached to a linkage for manipulating a master cylinder of a hydraulically actuated clutch release system. The clutch arm and actuator arm are interconnected via a pair of drag links, whereby operator actuation of the clutch arm results in corresponding actuation of the actuator arm.

  • Patent number: 5934142
Abstract: A two-piece continuous mesh synchronized reverse idler system is provided for use with a manual transmission. The system is provided for use with a vehicle transmission having an input shaft with a reverse driven gear, and an intermediate shaft with a reverse driven gear. The reverse idler system includes a reverse idler shaft which supports an upstream idler gear and a downstream idler gear. The upstream idler gear is rotatably mounted on the reverse idler shaft for engaging the reverse drive gear on the input shaft. The downstream idler gear is rotatably mounted on the reverse idler shaft for engaging the reverse driven gear on the intermediate shaft. A clutching device is provided for synchronizing and engaging the upstream reverse idler gear and the downstream reverse idler gear.
