  • Patent number: 9511336
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing beads comprising a material capable of gelation, said method comprising the steps of: (i) combining (a) a liquid composition comprising a material capable of gelation; and (b) a first hydrophobic phase; (ii) subjecting the liquid composition and the first hydrophobic phase, to means for emulsification in a first reactor by addition of external mechanical energy creating an emulsion comprising individual droplets comprising the material capable of gelation in the first hydrophobic phase (wherein the material capable of gelation provides a discontinuous phase and the first hydrophobic phase provides a continuous phase); (iii) stabilizing the droplets by transferring the emulsion from the first reactor to a stabilization reactor wherein the emulsion obtained in step (ii) is subjected to means for gelation in order to obtain gelation within 5 minutes or less, and the beads are formed.

  • Patent number: 9450995
Abstract: A wireless computer that pairs with a remote audio-video presentation device, such as a television. As a result of the pairing, a communication channel is established for the computer to transmit audio-video content for presentation through that device. Additionally, as part of the pairing, the computer and remote device select a side channel for communication of user commands. The wireless computer may display a user interface through which a user may input commands that control the manner in which the remote audio-video device presents the content. As a result, a user may use the wireless computer as a remote control for the audio-video device, controlling both the content presented and the manner in which it is presented. The side channel may use different frequencies than the channel used to communicate audio-video content, and may use very low power at frequencies in the digital TV spectrum.

  • Patent number: 9106436
Abstract: A web-based service portal provides a user interface to configure and/or access device(s) of a home network. The service portal can communicate with device(s) through application program interfaces (APIs). The service portal can provide a standardized user interface for specific feature(s) of a device. The service portal can further provide user authentication, device provisioning, and/or a user interface used to interact with device(s) in a home network. The service portal can established a trusted communication link between the portal and the device. The service portal can include a home control user interface component for providing a graphical representation of the home network and receiving user input and a device provisioning component that can discover and configure the device. The service portal can, optionally, include an authentication component that can authenticate a particular user's right to configure and/or access device(s) of a particular home network.
