Abstract: A coaster for a beverage container has an enclosed base and a cooling material encapsulated therein. The enclosed base has a top surface with a substantially planar portion. The beverage container engages on the top surface of the base. In another embodiment, a coaster assembly has a base portion and a collar portion. The collar portion attaches to the base portion and reveals at least a portion of a top side of the base portion.
