Patent number: 12266923Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for a battery management system (BMS) having a protection circuit. In one example, a vehicle battery system may include the BMS, the BMS including a cutoff circuit coupled to a short-circuit protection circuit, and a battery pack, wherein the short-circuit protection circuit may include a diode array, cathodes of the diode array being coupled to a positive terminal post of the battery pack and anodes of the diode array being coupled to a negative terminal post of the battery pack. In some examples, the cutoff circuit may further be coupled to a reverse bias protection circuit including a switchable current path arranged between a control input of the cutoff circuit and an output of the cutoff circuit. In this way, the vehicle battery system may be protected from unexpected voltage conditions via the BMS redirecting and dissipating excess current away from the cutoff circuit.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2023Date of Patent: April 1, 2025Assignee: A123 SYSTEMS LLCInventors: Yue Li, Steve Gierlach, Weiwei Lin, Brian Large, Jiaping Zhang, Ke Xu

Publication number: 20250078133Abstract: Content items are presented to users based on sensitivity scores indicating sensitivity levels of users to relevance of content items to queries. A system receives a query from a target user, retrieves a set of search results responsive to the query, and retrieves a set of content items, each of which has a relevance score to the query. The system applies a machine learning model to user data of the target user to output a sensitivity score, indicating a sensitivity level of the target user to relevance of content item to the query. The system then selects one or more content items based on the sensitivity score and the relevance scores of the content items, incorporates the selected content items into the search results, and sends the search results with the selected content items for display to the target user.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2023Publication date: March 6, 2025Inventors: Brian Lin, Angadh Singh, Sharath Rao Karikurve

Publication number: 20250046471Abstract: A system that analyzes alarms from patient monitoring devices and calculates modified alarm thresholds that reduce the number of alarms to a desired level. This capability addresses the common problem of alarm overload and fatigue, where alarms occur so frequently that clinicians cannot respond effectively. The system supports highly efficient calculation of changes in alarm frequency, by storing summaries of alarm data that record maximum and minimum values during an alarm. New thresholds may be selected manually or automatically and may be transmitted directly to the patient monitoring devices as updates to their alarm thresholds. The system may also classify alarms as high (above an upper threshold) or low (below a lower threshold) when devices do not provide this data. The system may also estimate the number of additional alarms that would occur if an upper threshold were reduced, or a lower threshold were increased.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 1, 2023Publication date: February 6, 2025Applicant: Nihon Kohden Digital Health Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Elizabeth BUDI, Allison AUSTIN, Harsh DHARWAD, Abel LIN, Timothy RUCHTI, Brian TU, Arthur WEBB

Publication number: 20250046412Abstract: A system that analyzes alarms from patient monitoring devices that trigger after a configurable delay time, and that calculates modified delay times that reduce the number of alarms to a desired level. This capability addresses the common problem of alarm overload and fatigue, where alarms occur so frequently that clinicians cannot respond effectively. The system supports highly efficient calculation of changes in alarm frequency, by storing summaries of alarm data that record alarm durations and first values during the alarm. New delays may be selected manually or automatically and may be transmitted directly to the patient monitoring devices as updates to their alarm delay times. The system may also estimate a current delay time when devices do not provide this data. The system may also estimate the number of additional alarms that would occur if an alarm delay were reduced.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2024Publication date: February 6, 2025Applicant: Nihon Kohden Digital Health Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Elizabeth BUDI, Harsh DHARWAD, Abel LIN, Timothy RUCHTI, Brian TU, Arthur WEBB

Patent number: 12205155Abstract: Systems and methods for authenticating access to multiple data stores substantially in real-time are disclosed. The system may include a server coupled to a network, a client device in communication with the server via the network and a plurality of data stores. The server may authenticate access to the data stores and forward information from those stores to the client device. An exemplary authentication method may include receipt of a request for access to data. Information concerning access to that data is stored and associated with an identifier assigned to a client device. If the identifier is found to correspond to the stored information during a future request for access to the store, access to that store is granted.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2024Date of Patent: January 21, 2025Assignee: Seven Networks, LLCInventors: Jay Sutaria, Brian Daniel Gustafson, Robert Paul van Gent, Ruth Lin, David Merriwether, Parvinder Sawhney

Publication number: 20240354556Abstract: An online system generates session-based recommendations for a user accessing an application of the online system. The online system receives, from one or more client devices, a sequence of actions performed by a user during a session of an application of an online system. The online system generates a sequence of tokens from the sequence of actions by tokenizing an action to a token representing a respective item identifier. The online system applies a transformer-based machine-learned model to the sequence of tokens to generate predictions for a set of items. The online system selects a subset of items based on the generated predictions for the set of items. The online system generates one or more recommendations to the user from the selected subset of items and displays the recommendations to the user.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 19, 2024Publication date: October 24, 2024Inventors: Yueyang Rao, Brian Lin, Angadh Singh, Sharath Rao Karikurve, Guanghua Shu

Patent number: 10915023Abstract: A crosslinked self-assembled monolayer (SAM), comprising surface groups containing a nitrogen-heterocycle, was formed on an oxygen plasma-treated silicon oxide or hafnium oxide top surface of a substrate. The SAM is covalently bound to the underlying oxide layer. The SAM was patterned by direct write methods using ultraviolet (UV) light of wavelength 193 nm or an electron beam, forming a line-space pattern comprising non-exposed SAM features. The non-exposed SAM features non-covalently bound DNA-wrapped carbon nanotubes (DNA-CNT) deposited from aqueous solution with a selective placement efficiency of about 90%. Good alignment of carbon nanotubes to the long axis of the SAM features was also observed. The resulting patterned biopolymer features were used to prepare a CNT based field effect transistor.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 2017Date of Patent: February 9, 2021Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Shu-Jen Han, Brian Lin, Hareem T.
