Publication number: 20250204321Abstract: An end-effector for a robotic manipulator arm for robotic crop management has a chassis mountable on the robotic manipulator arm and a jaw movably mounted on the chassis to permit translation of jaw on the chassis. The jaw at least partially defines a closed loop through which a horticultural object is able to pass. A tactile sensor is mounted on the end-effector to measure a force applied to the horticultural object by the end-effector as the horticultural object passes through the closed loop. A cutter mounted on the chassis cuts a portion of the horticultural object when the portion of the horticultural object is brought into contact with the cutter by translation of the jaw on the chassis. A blade sheath houses the cutting blade therein when the cutting blade is not being used.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2023Publication date: June 26, 2025Applicant: Vineland Research and Innovation CentreInventors: Brian LYNCH, Joshua LEE, Benjamin VAN DER ZALM, Myles LIDKA

Publication number: 20230285134Abstract: An embolic protection device includes an expandable mesh net coupled to a catheter assembly used in an interventional procedure. The catheter assembly includes an outer catheter, an inner catheter, a compliant balloon, and the mesh net. The catheter assembly can be deployed in a lumen, such as an outflow graft of a left ventricular assist device, a blood vessel, or other bodily lumen. The mesh net is coupled to the inner catheter and is expanded by retracting the outer catheter when positioned in the lumen. The mesh net captures embolic debris before it is able to enter into the patient's blood stream.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 3, 2021Publication date: September 14, 2023Inventors: David Joyce, Lyle Joyce, Michael Salinger, Brian Lynch

Patent number: 11659311Abstract: A one-piece sound port adapter for a microphone assembly includes a body member configured to be fitted over a sound port of the microphone assembly. The body member includes an acoustic channel defined in part by a cavity having a sound inlet and a sound outlet, where the sound outlet is acoustically coupled to the sound port. A wall portion of the body member extends into the cavity and configured to modify an acoustic property of the acoustic channel. When mounted, the one-piece sound port adapter converts the microphone assembly from a top or bottom port microphone assembly to a side-port microphone assembly.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2020Date of Patent: May 23, 2023Assignee: KNOWLES ELECTRONICS, LLCInventors: Brian Lynch, Alexander Grossman, Ben Vondersaar, Matthew Manley

Patent number: 9495307Abstract: A method for operating a portable electronic device includes receiving an identifier associated with an accessory connected to the portable electronic device. The portable electronic device then determines a set of actions to be performed for that accessory based on the received identifier. The portable electronic device then performs the determined actions.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2013Date of Patent: November 15, 2016Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Stephen Zadesky, Fletcher Rothkopf, Brian Lynch

Publication number: 20160051278Abstract: A surgical snare device for use in polypectomy procedures includes a snare loop capable of being deployed with a plurality of precise internal diameters. The device includes a handle with first and second handle assemblies and a collar. The first handle assembly has multiple numerical markings on a side. The second handle assembly is slidable along the first handle assembly to deploy the snare loop from an elongate tubular sheath attached to the distal end of the first handle assembly. When the second handle assembly is slid to a position such that it aligns with one of the numerical markings on the first handle assembly, the snare loop will be deployed with an internal diameter in millimeters that corresponds precisely to the numerical marking. For example, sliding the second handle assembly to a ‘10’ marking will deploy a snare loop having an internal diameter of 10 mm. The collar is positioned just distal to the second handle assembly and is also slidable along the first handle assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 24, 2015Publication date: February 25, 2016Inventors: Charlie Jacobs, Lanita Cox, Brian Lynch, Chee Kong Teo

Patent number: 9118104Abstract: This is directed to an antenna for use in an electronic device. The antenna can be constructed from a flex and printed trace, such that the flex is originally defined to be as large or nearly as large as possible to fit within portion of the electronic device dedicated to the antenna. This can allow the antenna trace to vary as the antenna is tuned without requiring a new flex having a different shape. In addition, this can allow the antenna design to be decoupled from the mechanical considerations related to mounting the antenna within the electronic device.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2013Date of Patent: August 25, 2015Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Fletcher R. Rothkopf, Brian Lynch, Wey-Jiun Lin, Kyle H. Yeates, Yi Jiang
