  • Patent number: 9032735
Abstract: A combustor generally includes a plate that extends radially and circumferentially within at least a portion of the combustor. The combustor may also include a shroud that at least partially surrounds the plate and a plurality of tubes that extend through the plate. One or more flexible couplings may at least partially surround at least some of the plurality of tubes and the one or more flexible couplings may be connected to the plate.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 26, 2012
Date of Patent: May 19, 2015
    Assignee: GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY

  • Patent number: 7814879
Abstract: A cylinder crankcase for a four-stroke engine is disclosed. The cylinder crankcase includes a cylinder head, cylinder block, and crankcase which are monolithic. A half-crank crankshaft bears in a crank arm, which is included in the crankcase. The cylinder crankcase includes a belt driven valve train and crank arm that includes a pocket containing a crank gear attached to the crankshaft for driving the belt.

  • Publication number: 20100006076
Abstract: A breather system for an engine used to vent combustion, or blow-by, gases. The breather system has an axial breather passage disposed within a camshaft of the engine. A radial opening is in fluid communication with the axial breather passage. A valve is positioned within the radial opening in order to prevent oil from entering the axial breather passage when the engine is not in operation.

  • Patent number: 5711742
Abstract: A marine propulsion system, preferably having dual counterrotating propellers, has an automatic multi-speed shifting mechanism such as a transmission. An electronic controller monitors engine parameters such as engine revolution speed and load, and generates a control signal in response thereto, which is used to control shifting. Engine load is preferably monitored by sensing engine manifold air pressure. The electronic controller preferably has a shift parameter matrix stored within a programmable memory for comparing engine speed and engine load data to generate the control signal. The system can also have a manual override switch to override shifting of the shifting mechanism.
