  • Patent number: 8372503
Abstract: A self-sustainable formable tray is presented which possesses the abilities to be formed in any form or manner as the application desires. The tray can be used in the medical field where flexibility, formability, sterility and cleavability are desirable. Though designed with several adaptations in purpose, there are a myriad of fields of applications. The formable tray is designed for repeatable forming and cleaning cycles. The uniqueness of the tray is the ability for the tray to conform to trays, mandrels and forms using only human supplied pressures. The formable tray includes two layers of silicone or similar sheeting completely encapsulating flexible stiffening means. This flexible stiffening means will hold the device in various configuration as designed by the user. This flexible stiffening means include a stainless steel membrane, which can be magnetic completely, spot magnetized or be non-magnetic at the users behest, a metallic mesh or metallic rods.

  • Patent number: 7381288
Abstract: A method for handling, labeling, identifying and/or organizing specimens removed from a patient during surgery performed in the sterile field may include placing a specimen identification sheet in or near the sterile field. The specimen may be placed onto one section of the specimen identification sheet. The section advantageously has an identifier, such as a printed number or letter, or combinations of them. The section may then be marked with specimen identifying information. The section with the specimen may optionally be separated from the specimen identification sheet. The specimen is transferred from the section into or onto a container. The container can be marked with specimen identifying information, using a marker and a blank label, and/or with a pre-printed label.

  • Patent number: 5947285
Abstract: A medical waste disposal system for contaminated products to be disposed having a hollow, disposal container and a housing enclosure which is engageable with and covers the container. The housing enclosure has an opening and a tumbler which is pivotally mounted to prevent access to the interior of the housing enclosure when a contaminated product is being deposited into the interior of the disposal container. In one embodiment, upon dropping waste into the opening of the housing enclosure, the tumbler rotates to simultaneously close the upper opening in the housing enclosure and open a lower opening which allows the waste to drop into the disposal container. After the waste has dropped, the tumbler, which is weighted, returns to its original position. When the disposal container reaches full capacity, the tumbler is blocked by the medical waste in the disposal container thereby preventing rotation to the open position.
