  • Patent number: 8690210
Abstract: A shell case for use with a pad style computer can have a rotating disc at its bottom. This disc can have a strap which connects to a user's hand to allow the user to rotate and/or hold the computer at a desired position with one hand, thereby allowing the other hand to do other things, such as type on the keypad. Meanwhile the holding hand does not quickly tire out as it is not typically grasping the computer as would often occur without the use of a case.

  • Publication number: 20130129444
Abstract: A locknut comprising a metal nut including a threaded internal wall for engaging a threaded shaft; and a metal ring including an internal threaded wall defining a hole for engaging the threaded shaft. The ring comprised of a steel alloy. The threaded internal wall of the nut and the threaded internal wall of the ring being in general axial alignment when the ring is received by a bore of the nut. The ring has an elliptical configuration and is configured to distort to a circular configuration when the threaded shaft is engaged with the threaded internal wall of the nut and the threaded internal wall of the ring. The ring sized such that the stress in the ring when the ring is distorted to the generally circular configuration is less than the yield stress of the steel alloy. A thermal diffusion coating may be applied to the ring.

  • Publication number: 20090020360
Abstract: The present invention involves a selectively collapsible ladder which permits for adjusting the pitch of the steps between at least two pitches, one pitch being where the ladder collapsed for storage and another pitch whereby the steps are positioned for use by a user. The ladder includes a support structure comprising one or more support rails for extending between the ground and a loading or work surface or storage compartment. The steps are connected together by one or more links for effecting simultaneous movement of the steps. A stop mechanism is provided to releasably fix the step pitch relative to a support rail. The stop mechanism may include a ratchet mechanism that permits setting the pitch of the steps at one of several available pitch settings.
