  • Publication number: 20060045609
Abstract: A fluid applicator designed for liquid, cream, or lotion products is easily adaptable for oval shaped containers and other shaped heads, including circular containers. An inner housing is inserted into an outer housing with covering material, such as fabric and/or foam, located between the two housings. The covering material is tightly secured by the two housings. The two housings are permanently attached, preferably by sonic welding to form a subassembly. The inner housing may be formed with or without a domed top surface. A foam pad may be placed over the container's orifice, held in place by a covering material that is placed over the foam pad. Alternatively, depending upon the product dispensed, the foam and fabric covering material elements may be eliminated and replaced by a domed plastic insert with an array of multiple apertures to deliver high viscosity products.

  • Patent number: 6298572
Abstract: A fixture assembly for holding a part to be measured in a specified and elevated orientation and being utilized in combination with an existing coordinate measurement machine. A transportable body is provided having a horizontally arrayed and upwardly facing platform. The coordinate measurement machine is adapted to be arranged in proximity to the transportable body. First, second and third datum blocks are secured upon the upwardly facing platform at first, second and third selected locations. Each of the datum blocks further includes an upwardly facing tapped hole for receiving a measurement target which is capable of being manipulated according to instructions provided by the coordinate measurement machine to define first, second and third datum planes according to a coordinate system defined for the part to be measured. A plurality of individual support units are secured upon the platform at locations specified by the coordinate measurement machine.

  • Patent number: 5810495
Abstract: A self-adjustable roll-on liquid applicator having enhanced sealing features for containing and dispensing high volatility, low viscosity liquids. The applicator housing defines a discharge opening at its distal end for dispensing of contained liquid therefrom and a liquid-applying ball partially disposed in the housing distal end. An annular valve arrangement is disposed between the distal and proximal ends of the housing, thereby partitioning the housing into a ball retaining chamber and a valve-plug retaining chamber. A valve plug is movable into and out of abutment with an annular projection for regulating liquid flow between the ball retaining and valve-plug retaining chambers. The applicator also includes a spring in axial compressive engagement with the valve plug and ball for normally urging the ball into sealing abutment with a lip portion of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5568990
Abstract: A liquid applicator provides for a self-sealing feature, which applicator comprises a housing, a valve member and a spring member. The housing has an aperture through its top wall and an annular sleeve projecting inwardly from an edge of the top wall in a surrounding relation with the aperture, the annular sleeve having an end portion. The valve member includes an actuating part that is slideably received by the annular sleeve and a sealing part that is shaped to form a releasable seal with the end portion of the annular sleeve. The valve and spring members are disposed in an axially displaceable relation such that the actuating part of the valve member is resiliently urged into the annular sleeve; that a part of the actuating part protrudes from the top wall of the housing; and that the sealing part of the valve member sealably engages with the end portion of the annular sleeve.
