Patent number: 12070027Abstract: A one way door animal excluder includes an elongated enclosure to support a door within. The door pivots between an open and a closed position wherein an animal can push the door open from only one side. A top plate is fitted atop the enclosure and crimped at flanges of the top plate, with at least one flange also crimped around a hinge wire of the door to form a pivotal attachment of the door to the enclosure. The top plate includes an opening with tabs extending therein to form a spring mandrel to support a torsion spring. The torsion spring biases the door to close. The spring includes a loosely wound coil that may be temporarily compressed to install upon the tabs. An upward extending hump of the top plate is positioned adjacent to the spring coil to protect the spring coil structure.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2021Date of Patent: August 27, 2024Assignee: InnoTrap, LLCInventors: Brian Melgaard, Robert Downing Trafford, Joel S. Patent number: 11560874Abstract: A method for determining a yaw position offset of a wind turbine (1) is provided. A neighbouring wind turbine (2) of the wind farm is identified, the neighbouring wind turbine (2) being arranged in the vicinity of the wind turbine (1). Produced power data and/or wind speed data from the wind turbine (1) and from the neighbouring wind turbine (2), is obtained during a period of time, and a yaw position offset of the wind turbine (1) is derived, based on the obtained produced power data and/or wind speed data, and based on the geographical positions of the wind turbine (1) and the neighbouring wind turbine (2). A local maximum and a local minimum being separated by an angular difference in yaw position being substantially equal to 180°.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2017Date of Patent: January 24, 2023Assignee: VESTAS WIND SYSTEMS A/SInventor: Brian Melgaard Christensen

Patent number: 9254705Abstract: A ring binder is provided that has attachable and detachable covers. The opposite edges of the binder's spine are hingedly attached to the proximal edges of respective front and back extensions which are relatively short in a direction perpendicular to the hinge axes. The extensions are sized to be substantially coextensive with the maximum projection of the binder's rings along an axis that is perpendicular to the inside surface of the spine, and the rings and associated structures are either mounted on the inside of the spine or inside of the back extension depending on the ring type. The front and back extensions function to extend the front and back covers to the hinges when the covers are attached to the extensions' distal edges. When so attached, an assembled ring binder having hinged covers is created that appears and functions as a conventional binder when used.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2012Date of Patent: February 9, 2016Assignee: DELI GROUP CO, LTD.Inventor: Brian Melgaard

Patent number: 7344026Abstract: A package for a product and a method of packaging a product are disclosed. The product has a main body and a handle extending substantially transversely from the body. The package comprises a back panel and a front panel, the back panel and the front panel configured form an enclosure and surround at least a portion of the main body to secure the product in the enclosure such that the handle is exposed so that a user can grip the handle of the product.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2003Date of Patent: March 18, 2008Assignee: Powershot Tool Company, Inc.Inventor: Brian Melgaard

Publication number: 20080011808Abstract: A desktop stapler uses a spring to store energy to install staples by impact blow. The force required to fasten papers together is reduced. A very compact mechanism is used, including a dual coil power spring with a nested lever. A multi-function base provides a sloped front all the way to down to a desk top surface to guide paper sheets atop the base, easy access for lifting the stapler off a desk, horizontal or vertical resting positions, and integrated soft grip under-surface. The base surrounds the rear of the stapler body to provide a smooth exterior so that the device is natural to use both horizontally and vertically. A simple re-set spring provides a smooth re-set action as the handle is raised. A staple track includes enlargement features to fit a larger staple pusher spring.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2007Publication date: January 17, 2008Applicants: ACCENTRA, INC., WORKTOOLS, INC.Inventors: Brian Melgaard, Joel Marks
