Abstract: The present invention is directed to a personal care composition comprising from about 6% to about 15% of sodium lauryl sulfate; a ratio of sodium lauryl sulfate to a co-surfactant of from about 0.63:1 to about 15:1; from about 10% to about 20% of total surfactant and having a viscosity of from about 3000 cps to about 20,000 cps and wherein the personal care composition comprises less than about 2% sodium laureth sulfate.

The silicone emulsion contains one or more silicone polymers that can be a polyorganosiloxane compound containing one or more quaternary ammonium groups, silicone blocks comprising between about 99 and about 199 siloxane units on average, at least one polyalkylene oxide structural unit; and at least one terminal ester group.

The composition delivers thorough hair cleansing, good lather, good conditioning wet feel, clean rinse feel during use, leaving hair with very low residue on the hair surface. The use of the shampoo composition also provides high hair volume, smooth dry hair feel, and bouncy hair that is easy to style.
