  • Patent number: 7277789
Abstract: A system for communicating information between a first controller and a second controller is presented. The system is designed to improve and increase the robustness data transferred between two controllers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 6, 2006
Date of Patent: October 2, 2007
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC

  • Publication number: 20070208464
Abstract: A system and method of interactively compiling a composite database for use by an in-vehicle display device includes a user computer, a communications network, a central computer, and a geometric component part model library. The system further includes an executable display design software program that populates the composite database. The display device is controlled by an executable display device software program using information from the composite database. The method includes an executable module for selecting a component part model from the component part library, an executable module for selecting a material property describing the selected component part model, an executable module for defining an operator control for a display screen state and a corresponding action when the control is selected by the operator in the vehicle, an executable module for defining an information communication means that provides information to the defined user control, for display on the in-vehicle display device.

  • Publication number: 20070118269
Abstract: A method for controlling engine torque during disruption of a primary communication link between an engine control unit and a valve control unit in an engine is provided. The method includes determining disruption of the primary communication link between the engine control unit and the valve control unit, operating a preset valve timing schedule upon determination of disruption of the communication link between the engine control unit and the valve control unit; and sending a status message from the valve control unit to the engine control unit regarding the operational status of the valve control unit.

  • Publication number: 20050193989
Abstract: A gaseous fuel system for an automotive vehicle includes a gaseous fuel storage tank and an associated pressure sensor for monitoring pressurized gas contained within the storage tank. A parameter-driven routine monitors the integrity of the tank by tracking filing cycles marked by the increase of the tank pressure from a first threshold to a second threshold. Mitigation actions may be taken in the event that the filling cycles exceed a predetermined number, or in the event that other system integrity monitoring indicates that mitigation is in order.
