  • Publication number: 20190197477
Abstract: The invention is directed to a User Publishing System (UPS) that enables both content publishing for users that share what they know in articles and enabling these users to get paid for providing the content through use of a User Compensation System (UCS). The invention enables users to create and edit content in multiple formats, from multiple sources, and in multiple languages. The system can be integrated for use with a plurality of different websites and adopt both the look and feel and the content format of each website, and/or other communication medium. Compensation may be provided to the user providing the content based on a variety of metrics.

  • Publication number: 20190155903
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for matching user inputted text to stored text. The user inputted text is compared to each of the text strings stored in a database using a Levenshtein distance algorithm. For each comparison, the Levenshtein distance is analyzed to determine exact matches, non-matches, and probable matches. Probable matches are further analyzed using a keyboard distance algorithm to differentiate between matches and non-matches.

  • Patent number: 9126235
Abstract: An enhanced postal data modeling framework, in which postal data which describes characteristics of a mail sortation process is accessed, and the postal data is mapped to production management data which describes characteristics of a model production management process in an initial state and which is capable of being processed by a production management application. The production management data is input for processing by the production management application to produce forecasted production management data which predicts characteristics of the model production management process in a subsequent state, the forecasted production management data is modeled to forecasted postal data which predicts characteristics of the mail sortation process, and at least a portion of the forecasted postal data is provided to a user.

  • Patent number: 9060020
Abstract: A system, method and computer readable storage medium that receives traffic/packets from external devices attempting to access protected devices in a protected network. A determination is made to whether a received packet belongs to one of a plurality of packet classifications. Each packet classification indicative of different classes of IP traffic. Countermeasures are applied to a received packet to prevent attack upon the protected devices. Applying a countermeasure to a received packet determined to belong to one of the plurality of packet classifications includes countermeasure modification/selection contingent upon the determined packet classification for the received packet.

  • Publication number: 20130346379
Abstract: A method and system for streaming dynamically generated Zip archive file content using a standard, non-streaming Zip archive format. In response to a request from a client to receive one or more files, a Zip archive file is dynamically generated that includes at least one file that is altered while servicing the request, wherein the size of the altered file is unknown prior to completion of the alteration operation. For a Zip file entry corresponding to an altered file, a local file header including an overestimated file size and predetermined CRC32 value is generated. After alteration, the file entry content is adjusted using padding and a CRC32 adjustment such that the length and CRC32 values for the resulting Zip file entry match the overestimated file size and predetermined CRC32 value. Examples of file alteration operations include watermarking, compressing, and/or encrypting the file content.

  • Publication number: 20110047484
Abstract: A collaboration system described herein empowers non-technical users to create and manage custom collaboration portals, called hubs. Hubs are easy to manage, often providing a satisfactory default configuration after the user answers questions through a wizard-like interface. The collaboration system may be provided as an Internet-based service that can be accessed by users regardless of their affiliation with a company or other predetermined group. In addition, the system shields users from the systems that provide storage for hub content, so that users can avoid the difficulties of data management. The system may provide one or more hub widgets that provide specific functionality, such as a calendar widget for managing events, a file widget for sharing files, a comments widget for managing electronic discussions, and so forth. Thus, the collaboration system facilitates online collaboration for users without advanced software experience.

  • Patent number: 7809636
Abstract: A system and method for initiating multicurrency/multibank wire transfers and account reporting. Using a standard Internet browser, a customer of a financial institution accesses the funds transfer and information reporting system of the present invention. Access to the system is restricted based on the user's security profile and access rights. Once logged into the system, the user provides instructions to move funds from their accounts with the financial institution or funds from an account with any other financial institution. Furthermore, the customer is able to view the details of its accounts maintained at the financial institution or at any other financial institution in the same session. Wire transactions can be in the form of a pre-defined or free formatted instruction. Furthermore, the wire transactions can involve several banks and several different currencies.

  • Patent number: 7809842
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for transferring a communication and computer session between devices. A user launches a communication session on a first device, such as a personal computer. The user may then selectively transfer the communication session to another device, such as a wireless device, through activation of a triggering signal. In response, the context of the communication session is determined as it is being performed on the first device, including a type of the communication session. The communication session is then transferred to the second device by launching a new communication session on the second device and transferring the context of the communication session corresponding to the first device to the new communication session on the second device. The communications session is continued via use of the first device as a proxy for the second device.

  • Patent number: 7619513
Abstract: A device for monitoring movement of an object is provided. A first module is configured to secure to the object. A second module, capable of electrically connecting to the first module, includes at least a rechargeable battery and a memory capable of storing a history of movement data. A third module, capable of electrically connecting with the second module, includes a data modem capable of connecting to a remote station, and a battery charger. When the second module is connected to the first module, the memory periodically records available location data representing a position of the device at the time of recording. When the second module is connected to the third module, the memory downloads through the data modem and the battery charger charges the battery.

  • Patent number: 7487248
Abstract: A method and system for transferring a computer session between devices, such as a land-line device to a wireless device. A user launches a computer session on a first device, such as a personal computer. The user may then selectively transfer the computer session to another device, such as a wireless device, through activation of a triggering signal or other transfer request means. In response, the context of the computer session is determined as it is being performed on the first device, and corresponding context data is transferred to the second device. An applicable application on the second device is opened and loaded with applicable context data to continue the session. Several session transfer mechanisms, including use of an online service, proxy mechanisms, and peer-to-peer communication links, are disclosed.
