  • Patent number: 7432459
Abstract: A seat control unit for adjusting a vehicle seat includes a touch sensor having a touch-sensitive fabric. The touch-sensitive fabric is disposed on a support layer which may be formed by a vehicle interior component such as the vehicle seat, an interior door panel or an armrest. The touch sensor generates signals in response to a force exerted on the touch-sensitive fabric. A control circuit is connected the touch sensor and receives the signals generated by the touch sensor. The control circuit determines a position of the force exerted on the touch-sensitive fabric and generates control signals for controlling the vehicle seat in dependence on the position of the force exerted on the touch-sensitive fabric.

  • Patent number: 6273819
Abstract: A hand held electronic game having sensors requiring the user to perform functions similar to those required during the activity simulated by the game. In a hand held electronic bowling game, both finger-movement sensors and game-moving sensors require the user to grip and swing the game housing much like swinging a bowling ball while finger-receiving sensors measure movement in the fingers and game housing-movement sensors measure the forcefulness and speed of the user's swing with the ball. The sensors include printed circuit boards and the game-moving sensor can utilize a LED and a photodiode along with a periodically transparent extension, which moves between the LED and the photodiode to determine the force of the swing by centrifugal force.

  • Patent number: 4742283
Abstract: An automatic guidance device for an electrically driven vehicle inductively coupled by a power receiver core to a roadway core connected to power source. The device which is attached to the power receiver core or to a ferrous bar connected to the underside of the vehicle comprises at least two sensor coils equally spaced from the midpoint of the power receiver core which is on the vehicle centerline. End portions of the vehicle core or bar which extend beyond the coils comprises magnetic poles which receive flux from the roadway inductor. Flux through the coils produces voltages which vary in proportion to their distance from the roadway inductor centerline and are compared to produce error signals used to control a steering servo on the vehicle. In event of roadway power failure a circuit is provided to enable the utilization of battery power to produce sufficient flux to maintain the production of error signals and thus steering control.
