    Abstract: A battery block comprises first and second batteries each defining at least one vent port, a first terminal assembly connected to a positive terminal of the first battery, a second terminal assembly connected to a positive terminal of the second battery, at least one connector assembly connected to a negative terminal of the first battery and to a positive terminal of the second battery, and a matrix of rigid material. The matrix of rigid material surrounds at least a portion of the first and second batteries to secure the first and second batteries together, covers the at least one connector assembly to inhibit removal of the at least one connector assembly from the negative terminal of the first battery and the positive terminal of the second battery, and defines a void over at least a portion of the at least one vent port in the first and second batteries.
