  • Patent number: 8319782
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing scalability of multiple graphic processor units (GPU) that work together in a multi-coprocessor fashion to provide parallel graphics rendering methodology for an information handling system. The total number of active GPUs working together to provide parallel graphics rendering methodology for a given information handling system may be increased in a modular manner beyond one or two GPUs, e.g., so as allow as many GPUs as desired to be attached to a given information handling system such as a desktop computer or notebook computer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 8, 2008
Date of Patent: November 27, 2012
    Assignee: Dell Products, LP
Inventors: Mark A. Casparian, Frank C. Azor, Brian P. Cooper, Jeffrey A. Cubillos, Kevin P. O'Neill, Asif Rehman, Chris S. Wetzel

  • Publication number: 20090183098
Abstract: An information handling system provides a graphical user interface for customization of a keyboard layout. Individual key sizes, shapes, icons, functions, and other characteristics can be created via the GUI. The customized layout can be stored at the information handling system in a file. The file can be accessed to create a keyboard at a touch-screen device based on the customized layout.

  • Patent number: 6892183
Abstract: A method of displaying an item name having a first word, a second word, and a third word on an item list of an item selection menu of a retail terminal includes the step of displaying a first version of the item name on the item list of the item selection menu such that the first word is followed by the second word which is followed by the third word. The method also includes the step of displaying a second version of the item name on the item list of the item selection menu such that the second word is followed by the first word which is followed by the third word. Moreover, the method includes the step of displaying a third version of the item name on the item list of the item selection menu such that the third word is followed by the first word which is followed by the second word. A retail terminal is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6418414
Abstract: A method of operating a retail terminal includes the step of determining if a user of the retail terminal operates an input device so as to enter a first character, a second character, and a third character associated with a first item name and generating a character-entered control signal in response thereto. The method also includes the step of displaying a first menu having a first plurality of item names containing each of the first character, the second character, and the third character in response to generation of the character-entered control signal. Moreover, the method includes the step of determining if the user operates the input device so as to select the first item name from the first plurality of item names listed on the first menu. A retail terminal is also disclosed.
