  • Patent number: 9481288
Abstract: A system of providing vehicle information and alerts to a vehicle operator or other user includes a device that removably attaches to the vehicle data port. The device communicates through the data port with a vehicle electronic control module. The device incorporates a set of vehicle operating parameters, communications settings and commands. The device monitors vehicle operating parameters and alerts a vehicle operator or other user if a monitored vehicle operating parameter exceeds a predetermined or configured limit. The vehicle operator or other user may configure custom calculations, formulas, or algorithms to generate new data based on existing vehicle or peripheral input data and then may use this new data as the configured limit to alert the vehicle operator or other user.

  • Patent number: 9402112
Abstract: A method for facilitating monetization of an embedded video configured for automated playback includes detecting, via an iframe embedded in a user interface of a third party platform, an indication of a user intent to view the video configured for automated playback. The video is hosted by a content sharing platform and embedded in the user interface of the third party platform. The method further includes providing, to a client device, video related data pertaining to the automated playback of the video in the user interface of the third party platform, and upon receiving the video-related data, validating the automated playback of the video in the user interface of the third party platform.

  • Patent number: 9349223
Abstract: A system and apparatus for advertising vehicle information using network names includes a wireless transceiver removably attached to the data port of a vehicle. The transceiver creates a wireless network having a unique name. The transceiver advertises vehicle specific information as part of the wireless network name. The transceiver communicates the network name to an app running on a wireless user computing device. A plurality of unique network names may be collected by the app and stored for use in researching additional information about each vehicle having such a transceiver mounted thereon.

  • Publication number: 20150186041
Abstract: A system associated with a text entry application, such as email or instant messaging, comprises an optional onscreen representation of a circular keyboard, a list of potential linguistic object matches, and a message area where the selected words are entered. The circular keyboard is manipulated via a hardware joystick or game-pad with analog joystick or omni-directional rocker switch built therein. The user points the joystick in the general direction of the desired letter, and then continues pointing roughly to each letter in the desired word. Once all letters have been roughly selected, buttons are used to select a specific word from the list of potential matches and send the selected word to the message area.

  • Patent number: 8897952
Abstract: A system for web-enabled vehicle diagnostic communications that includes a transceiver having a web server supporting WebSockets and is connected to a vehicle data port. The transceiver accepts web connections from various computing devices. The transceiver receives URIs from computing devices over the web connection and checks to determine if they are diagnostic URIs, in which case the web connection is converted into a diagnostic WebSocket capable of bidirectional vehicle communications. A web application may be used to operate the system.

  • Patent number: 8884749
Abstract: A system of reporting vehicle telemetry to a vehicle operator or other user includes a device that removably attaches to the vehicle data port to monitor vehicle operating conditions and communicate with vehicle control modules. A user may configure the device without making permanent changes to the vehicle. The device understands and interprets vehicle communications protocols and can send diagnostic commands to the control modules to allow user-customized text or data to be shown or indicated using built-in or factory installed vehicle displays, lights, or sounds. The system permits showing of multiple user-configured pages of vehicle data or other information and provides real-time updates and configurable switchable profile and display settings. The device monitors factory installed vehicle buttons, switches, knobs, and sensors, and allows use of those items to perform customization and configuration tasks without the need for peripheral input accessories connected to the device.
