  • Patent number: 11784333
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method of managing the power requirements of a facility powered by fuel cells, the facility including: a primary system having a non-discretional load requirement; and one or more ancillary load consuming systems having a nominal load; at least one fuel cell to provide power to the primary system to meet the non-discretional load requirement and provide power to the one or more ancillary systems; and a control system configured to monitor the non-discretional load requirement and to control the supply of power to the primary system and to the one or more ancillary load consuming systems. The method includes: detecting a change in the non-discretional load requirement; adjusting the power supplied to the one or more ancillary load consuming systems from the nominal load to meet the change in the non-discretional load requirement; and providing power to the primary system to meet the changed non-discretional load requirement.

  • Patent number: 9109794
Abstract: A method of generating steam by heating water in a steam generator comprising a plurality of steam generating channels, wherein water is supplied at a constant rate to each steam generating channel through respective water supply lines, and wherein a sufficient pressure drop is provided across each water supply line in order to prevent flow reversal in the plurality of steam generating channels.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 18, 2006
Date of Patent: August 18, 2015
    Assignee: CERAMIC FUEL CELLS LIMITED
Inventors: Michael Kah, Khaliq Ahmed, Geoffrey James Mentink, Nicholas Victor Orr, Brian Parris, Richard James Payne, Daniel Michael Xerri
  • Patent number: 8075766
Abstract: A water treatment method is provided for helping to partially or completely remove sodium and methane gas from water. In the method, water is combined with a reactant that is formulated to combine with the sodium in the water and form a compound. The water and compound are then passed through a bed of media for helping to separate the compound from the water. The method also includes aerating the water to release gases contained therein by breaking the water into microdroplets by passing it through a screen. Additionally, the method may include a step wherein the water is passed through an acidic resin for facilitating a cation exchange where additional sodium is removed. A water treatment apparatus for performing the method is also provided.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 15, 2009
Date of Patent: December 13, 2011
Assignees: CST Industries, Inc., Blue Future Filters, Inc.
