  • Patent number: 9881288
Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, techniques for utilizing an enhanced user interface to create interactive layouts. For instance, a merchant device may present a user interface to a merchant, where the merchant can use the user interface to create a layout of a physical establishment. The merchant device can then receive inputs indicating respective locations of designated sections and objects within the physical establishment, and update the layout to include graphical elements corresponding to the designated sections and the objects at the respective locations. After creating the layout, the merchant device can send data corresponding to the layout to a payment service. The payment service can analyze the layout to determine locations within the physical establishment for placing designated sections and objects. Additionally, the payment service can send the merchant device messages that indicate the locations.

  • Patent number: 9575636
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a user interface having a header or banner that displays information about a current context to help a user to gather information. In one example, the user interface displays information of a datacenter's health and status, including alerts that have been triggered. The user interface displays a context banner that tracks information gathered and actions taken within the context of the alert, and provides aggregate information or detailed information about the alert.

  • Patent number: 9141444
Abstract: Applications executing in a mobile device utilize a protocol for inter-application communication to overcome restrictions of a sandboxed environment. Applications advertise their exposed capabilities using structured definition files, which are consumed by other applications. Applications can invoke the advertised capabilities by exchanging inter-application communication (IAC) messages in the form of URLs or other platform-specific mechanisms. URL messages are formatted according to parameters and URL schemes specified by the provided definition files.

  • Patent number: 9098457
Abstract: Embodiments visualize the execution of a disaster recovery plan. During a transfer of computing nodes from a source site to a target site, a map user interface (UI) is displayed. The map UI includes a first region corresponding to the geographic location of the source site and a second region corresponding to the geographic location of the target site. An animated progress indicator representing termination of computing nodes at the source site is displayed in the first region. Simultaneously, another animated progress indicator representing initiation of computing nodes at the target site, and further representing a reverse animation of the other animated progress indicator, is displayed in the second region.
