  • Patent number: 12116723
Abstract: A system for creating folds in textiles. The system includes a tooling plate, a loading assembly, a fold mechanism, a wrangler mechanism, and a door mechanism. The loading assembly enable a user to load a textile into the system. The fold mechanism creates folds in the textile. The wrangler mechanism compacts a textile after folds have been created in it to retain and tighten the folds. The door mechanism opens and closes an opening in the tooling plate through which textiles can be transferred away from the wrangler mechanism. Preferably, the system may also include a robot arm equipped to transfer textiles about the system and a tying machine for applying bindings to textiles.

  • Patent number: 9909645
Abstract: A flywheel used for kinetic energy storage and the construction of the flywheel using composite materials. The present invention provides a rotor support for coupling an annular flywheel rotor to a shaft for rotation with the shaft, the support comprising a body having a longitudinal axis about which it rotates in the finished flywheel assembly, wherein the body comprises a stack of sheets of a composite material including fibers, the stack includes at least two unidirectional sheets, each having substantially all of their fibers extending in the same direction, and the fibers of one of the unidirectional sheets are orientated at a different angle to the longitudinal axis of the body to the fibers in another unidirectional sheet. The body includes at least one side layer of woven fabric provided over a side of the stack of sheets. The rotor support configuration of the present invention provides a stiff construction.

  • Publication number: 20120073693
Abstract: An insulation panel and a method of insulating a pipeline are disclosed by the present application. In one exemplary embodiment, the insulation panel includes one or more pieces of compressible fiberglass insulation material and a coated fabric cover encasing the one or more pieces of insulation material. The coated fabric cover includes a first fastening portion disposed along a first end of the insulation panel and a second fastening portion disposed between the first end and a second end of the insulation panel. The first end of the insulation panel overlaps the second end of the insulation panel when the insulation panel is installed on a pipeline or other structure. Further, attachment of the first fastening portion to the second fastening portion secures the coated fabric cover around the pipeline or other structure.
