  • Patent number: 4899911
Abstract: An apparatus and method for dispensing an individual beverage serving are disclosed wherein a rupturable packet containing a flavoring constituent is ruptured by a mechanically actuated platen. Platen movement during the dispensing cycle is controlled by a specially configured cam and dependent upon predetermined volumes of flavoring constituent and gas within the packet. A nozzle assembly is employed for mixing the flavoring constituent with a base liquid and includes a deflector for insuring substantially uniform mixing and elimination of undesired foaming in the beverage. A specially configured rupturable packet is employed in which the side seals and the seal forming the packet spout are stronger than the peel seal of the packet, but weaker than the top closure seal. Another packet design employed with the apparatus has a spout which is angled to one side.

  • Patent number: 4522454
Abstract: The radial arm of a radial arm saw formed of sheet metal has a horizontal top wall and a pair of vertical sidewalls which are formed horizontally inward at their lower edges as to form ledges for supporting the opposite sides of a longitudinally slidable saw carriage thereon, two pair of longitudinally spaced low friction elements mounted on one side of the carriage with the elements of each pair bearing against opposite sides of one vertical sidewall guides the carriage longitudinally on the arm, and two low friction elements mounted in longitudinally spaced relationship along one side of the carriage and resting on one of the ledges and a single low friction element mounted on the other side of the carriage midway between the two support the carriage vertically on three points.

  • Patent number: 4453691
Abstract: A radial arm saw has arm elevating means employing an elongated nut adjustably attached to the arm and slidably guided in a longitudinal groove formed in a tubular column and a motion transmission screw journalled in the column, means employing like elements for indexing and locking the arm in miter positions and the saw blade in bevel positions, a direct base to column connection providing independent adjustment of base members with respect to the column and to each other, a spring arm for biasing a yoke index pin into indexed positions and for withdrawing it, cam and arm yoke locking means, and simplified fence or table board clamping means.

  • Patent number: 4256155
Abstract: A home workshop wood lathe mounted on a flat bed includes a pair of elongated members having horizontal surfaces which extend along opposite sides of and slightly above the lathe ways and are spaced to permit a tail stock to slide along the ways. Brackets for mounting a template or turned article to be duplicated are adjustable along the elongated members. A tool holder having a long flat base spanning the spaced horizontal surfaces is freely slidable thereon. An upstanding tool post near one end of the long base, a pair of upstanding follower pins spaced longitudinally on opposite sides of and closely adjacent the tool post, and a pair of handles arranged for selective attachment to the base on one side or the other of the tool post adapt the tool holder to axial or face plate turning operations and a conveniently detachable plate overlying the spaced horizontal surfaces provides a continuous surface when face plate turning.

  • Patent number: 4184395
Abstract: A radial arm saw has separate and independently adjustable actuating means operated by a single lever for indexing the arm in spaced miter positions and for clamping it in infinitely variable miter positions, a novel arm clamp shoe, an adjustable arm index ring, adjustable guide means including adjustable guide means guiding vertical movement of the arm, composite arm indexing pin, bevel and swivel indexing pin ramps, a heel adjustment cam, and adjustable bevel clamp means.
