  • Patent number: 9394095
Abstract: A transaction product assembly includes a perimeter frame defining a footprint, a plurality of parts maintained within the footprint of the perimeter frame, a transaction card, and a plurality of sprues. The transaction card includes a machine-readable account identifier linking the transaction card to an account or record, wherein the transaction card is maintained within the footprint of the perimeter frame. The plurality of sprues extend between the perimeter frame, the plurality of parts, and the transaction card to hold perimeter frame, the plurality of parts, and the transaction card together as a single piece. Areas within the footprint of the perimeter frame other than the plurality of parts, the transaction card, and the plurality of sprues remain substantially open and free of material.

  • Patent number: 9043231
Abstract: An assembly includes a transaction product and an auxiliary vehicle. The transaction product includes a folded sheet configured to be repeatedly folded and unfolded between a collapsed position and an extended position. The folded sheet defines a substantially planar surface defining a printed track. The transaction product comprises an account identifier statically connected thereto. The account identifier links the transaction product to at least one of an account and a record and is machine readable by a point-of-sale terminal. The auxiliary vehicle includes a microcontroller, one or more sensors, a motor, and at least one movable component. The microcontroller actuates the motor to induce movement of the at least one movable component propelling the auxiliary vehicle along and following the printed track based on detection of a location of the printed track as determined by the one or more sensors.

  • Publication number: 20130112745
Abstract: A transaction product includes a housing and a transaction card. The housing defines a storage chamber and a substantially planar surface. The substantially planar surface defines a perimeter portion and a recessed portion surrounded by, spaced from, and extending substantially parallel to the recessed portion to define a recess. The housing includes opposing tabs extending from the perimeter portion, toward each other, and partially across the recessed portion. The transaction card includes a machine-readable account identifier linking the transaction card to an account or record remote from the transaction product and having a value available for use as payment toward a purchase. The transaction card defines two opposing edges each selectively secured between the recessed portion of the substantially planar surface and a different one of the opposing tabs.

  • Publication number: 20120323712
Abstract: A transaction product includes a substantially rigid housing, a pump assembly, and an account identifier. The substantially rigid housing defines a substantially liquid-tight reservoir, an outflow aperture, and an external surface. The substantially liquid-tight reservoir is configured to maintain a liquid therein. The pump assembly is enclosed within the substantially rigid housing and is in communication with the substantially liquid-tight reservoir and the outflow aperture. The pump assembly is configured to move liquid from the substantially liquid-tight reservoir, through the pump assembly, and out the outflow aperture and into an external environment surrounding the substantially rigid housing. The account identifier is statically connected to the external surface of the substantially rigid housing and links the substantially rigid housing to at least one of an account and a record and is machine readable by a point-of-sale terminal.

  • Patent number: 8091779
Abstract: A transaction product has an account identifier and includes one or more cosmetic articles. The cosmetic article may be held in place by a tray such that both are readily removable from the housing. The transaction product and its various components, taken together, have a visual appeal accentuated by a sense of depth provided by employing indicia on different visual planes and by using transparent and/or translucent panels. The indicia may be evocative of the nature of cosmetic article, including graphics that depict the color, texture, or other physical properties of the particular cosmetic article enclosed within the transaction product. The account identifier is associated with the housing and links the transaction product to an account or record having a value configured to be used toward one or more of a purchase and a use of goods or services.

  • Patent number: 8047425
Abstract: A stored-value card includes an aromatic item, a housing, and an activation area. The housing substantially encloses the aromatic item, and the housing is configured to be selectively closed and opened to provide access to the aromatic item. The activation area links the housing to at least one of a stored-value account and a stored-value record such that value can be added to or deducted from the at least one of the stored-value account and the stored-value record using the activation area. Financial transaction cards, methods of encouraging purchase, and other embodiments are also disclosed.
